Role Description SCS Engineers is looking for a Field Project Manager for South Texas. The Field Project Manager is responsible for managing the safe, effective execution of work required to construct and/or operate, maintain, and monitor various environmental control systems, typically spending more than 50 percent of their time conducting field activities with other field staff or by themselves. You will be responsible for multiple smaller projects or one to two large projects. Role Description The Commissioning Manager leads and directs the start-up and commissioning of new and modified facilities and systems designed and built by SCS Engineers. This role provides technical and operational leadership during commissioning, supervises commissioning staff and external partners, and is accountable for safe, reliable facility performance through startup, performance testing, and turnover to operations. The position establishes commissioning strategy and acceptance criteria, leads cross-functional issue resolution and escalation, and ensures commissioning deliverables are completed to meet safety, schedule, and performance commitments. This position is remote, with travel expectations to be approximately 50%-60% and may require on-site assignments of up to 3 consecutive weeks, including weekends. Essential Duties and Responsibilities - Lead and manage safe, optimal, and environmentally sound commissioning activities for new and modified facilities. - Provide direct management, supervision, and performance oversight of SCS commissioning staff. - Provide direction and oversight to commissioning subcontractors and equipment vendor commissioning personnel. - Interface with project stakeholders, construction team, and operations team to ensure successful startup and sustained operations. - Develop and execute commissioning strategy, start-up strategy, and performance acceptance criteria. - Own commissioning execution and outcomes, including achievement of safety, schedule, and performance milestones, and provide go/no-go recommendations for commissioning readiness and startup activities. - Plan and coordinate commissioning resources (staffing, vendor support, and coverage) across assignments; assign priorities and provide technical direction to commissioning personnel. - Coach, develop, and provide performance feedback to commissioning staff through training, mentoring, and ongoing performance management to maintain safe work practices and high-quality execution. - Lead cross-functional issue resolution with construction, vendors, and operations; drive corrective actions to closure and communicate status, risks, and decisions to stakeholders. - Document and participate in plant design revisions and continuous improvement cycles. - Ensure successful plant startup and handover from the construction team to the operations team. - Support training of operational staff during facility startup. - Provide on-call commissioning support and troubleshoot technical operation and equipment issues. Travel Requirements - Commissioning travel is expected to be approximately 50–60% and may require on-site assignments of up to three consecutive weeks, including weekends. - Typical on-site schedule is 6 days per week, approximately 10 hours per day. - When supporting commissioning planning, documentation, coordination, and related activities, typical schedule is 5 days/week, 8–10 hours/day. Qualifications - Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in industrial commissioning, operations, engineering, or construction environments required. - Experience working in construction, commissioning, automation, or industrial facility environments. - Knowledge of process equipment and systems (e.g., compression, separations, thermal/combustion equipment, and utility systems) preferred. - Experience with industrial control systems, including SCADA, PLC, and HMI platforms. - Ability to interpret process flow diagrams (PFDs), heat and material balances (H&MB), and piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs). - Completion of (or willingness to complete) OSHA 30-hour training required. - Understanding of Process Safety Management (PSM) requirements is a plus. - Ability to travel throughout North America and Canada approximately 50–60% of the time, including multi-week assignments and weekends. - A valid driver’s license with a driving record in good standing is required. - Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook). Role Description We are looking for a Training Manager who will lead the development, implementation, execution, management, and coordination of the Field Services Training Program. This role standardizes training practices, coordinates technical trainers and pilot training efforts, implements structured onboarding and performance checkpoints, and uses training, safety, quality, and operational data to improve workforce readiness and program effectiveness. The division focuses on renewable energy design/build/operate projects in the renewable biogas and renewable power markets. SCS Energy's biogas-to-energy facilities currently operating, or currently under design or construction, will remove more than 2,000,000 metric tons/year of carbon dioxide equivalent (CO2e) in greenhouse gas emissions from the atmosphere. Our projects help a diversified client base achieve their renewable energy goals by reducing their carbon footprint and creating useful by-products from waste material. SCS builds systems that power universities, wastewater treatment plants and dairies; generate renewable natural gas sales; and support electric utilities. The Project Manager will handle day-to-day project management of the design, construction and commissioning of renewable power and gas-processing facilities as well as detailed engineering activities. Project size will range from $45MM to $80MM. This role is stationied in our Long Beach, CA Headquarters, but can be hybrid. Travel will be required. What we are looking for SCS Engineers is looking for a Principal Design Engineer for our Energy Business Unit to play a critical role in supporting the engineering and design team to ensure the successful delivery of large-scale environmental and infrastructure projects. This position is responsible for alignment, accuracy and coordination of each project design package, ensuring seamless integration between each of the engineering disciplines, their design packages, constructability, budget, schedule, and regulatory requirements. The role serves as a key liaison between engineering teams, project managers, clients, and external stakeholders to facilitate seamless integration of design activities throughout the project lifecycle. This engineer will work both in the office environment and at various project locations around North America. We prefer you are located in Long Beach but will consider remote situations within the U.S. with travel required. How you can make an impact - Review the design development of each project in alignment with project scope, and regulatory requirements. - Coordinate design document alignment and accuracy across multiple engineering disciplines including chemical, civil, structural, mechanical, HVAC, plumbing, architectural, controls, and electrical. - Ensure all design and drawing packages are completed accurately and meet the Basis of System Criteria (BOSC) or Basis of Design (BOD) as outlined in project proposals as well as the project requirements as outlined in the contract. - Conduct thorough reviews and validations of all engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation. - Facilitate interdisciplinary coordination meetings and design reviews to ensure consistency and integration across all design elements. - Collaborate closely with the Project Manager to track design progress and ensure timely deliverables. - Interface with engineers, subconsultants, and stakeholders to resolve design issues and maintain project momentum. - Support procurement planning by identifying design-related requirements and potential gaps early in the project lifecycle. - Communicate clearly and effectively with project engineers to ensure that the applicable drawings are created in accordance with contract requirements. - Support, understand, and advise clients on design requirements and obligations from a constructability and sustainability perspective, ensuring compliance with all project requirements. - Ensure design information is of high quality and progresses in line with project schedules, incorporating feedback on materials, processes, and environmental impacts. - Other tasks and responsibilities as assigned. This position will be remote. - Maintain accurate records of procurement activities including purchase orders, contracts, and supplier communications - Communicate with vendors to obtain status updates, confirmations, shipping documentation, and delivery timelines - Track and monitor shipments to ensure materials are delivered on schedule - Assist with coordinating logistics and maintaining documentation such as confirmations, packing slips, proof of delivery (POD), and equipment inspection forms in procurement systems - Monitor delivery dates and ensure procurement activities align with project timelines - Prepare procurement reports including purchase order reports, procurement metrics, supplier performance summaries, and spending analysis for management review - Assist with monitoring inventory at storage facilities and support inventory tracking activities - Support submission of claims related to damaged equipment or materials - Prepare and assist with shipping documentation required for logistics coordination - Create and submit requisitions to the Purchasing department - Identify and recommend procurement cost-saving opportunities and process improvements to management - Provide general administrative support for Project Managers as needed - Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to ensure procurement activities comply with company policies and procedures - Assist with additional procurement and operational tasks as assigned Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field is preferred - Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience required, including administrative, customer service, supply chain, procurement, or financial analysis experience required - Experience with procurement-to-pay (P2P) processes, inventory management, vendor management, or logistics coordination is preferred - Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is required Requirements - Pay Range: USD $24.00 - USD $33.00 /Hr. We are looking for a Construction Project Engineer (CPE) to support complex engineering and construction projects within our Energy business unit at an active project site. This role will focus on day to day construction execution, project controls, and field coordination. The Construction Project Engineer will serve as a key liaison between clients, contractors, and internal teams, ensuring scope, cost, schedule, and quality objectives are achieved throughout the project lifecycle. Develop a thorough understanding of contract plans, specifications, drawings, addenda, and contract exhibits across all disciplines Review and help resolve design and construction discrepancies, interferences, and field conflicts Provide technical support to determine cost effective and schedule efficient construction methods Manage Requests for Information (RFIs), maintain RFI logs, track aging and priorities, and coordinate timely responses Maintain and utilize project logs including RFIs, submittals, change orders, punch lists, procurement logs, meeting minutes, and formal correspondence Manage submittals and shop drawings, review for compliance, coordinate approvals, and drive timely resubmittals Maintain document control and ensure field teams are building from current approved drawings and specifications Support procurement and material management, including tracking long lead items, expediting deliveries, and maintaining material logs Perform routine QA/QC observations, document deficiencies, and drive corrective actions and punch list closure Support schedule updates, weekly lookahead planning, cost forecasting, and change management processes Assist in managing subcontractors, vendors, and consultants to meet project milestones and deliverables Quantify schedule and cost impacts, maintain change logs, and support pricing and client approvals Monitor field activities for compliance with design, safety protocols, and regulatory requirements Participate in safety meetings, job hazard analyses, safety walks, and stop work for unsafe conditions Assist or lead project meetings, develop agendas, issue meeting minutes, assign action items, and track to closure Support commissioning, turnover, and project closeout including O and M manuals, warranties, as builts, training, and final acceptance documentation Review subcontractor payment applications and ensure required compliance documentation is maintained
