Systems Engineer - Data Systems Modernization

Role Description KBR’s National Security Solutions team provides high-end engineering and advanced technology solutions to our customers in the intelligence and national security communities. In this position, your work will have a profound impact on the country’s most critical role – protecting our national security. Key Responsibilities: - Lead execution of data modernization and IT transformation programs supporting mission-critical systems. - Provide technical advisory support to government leadership on data management and modernization strategy. - Oversee development and integration of secure data transport architectures, communications infrastructure, and integrated mission systems and networks. - Drive modernization of legacy systems to enable improved data accessibility, interoperability, and operational resiliency. - Assist Government PMs in managing program performance across cost, schedule, risk, and technical execution. - Support government decision-making through technical assessments, architecture reviews, and risk analysis. - Coordinate across engineering, cybersecurity, acquisition, and operational stakeholders to ensure alignment of technical solutions with mission requirements. - Ensure compliance with DoD and Intelligence Community security policies within classified environments. - Define and guide modernization roadmaps, including transition of legacy systems to interoperable, resilient, and data-driven architectures. - Evaluate system designs for scalability, interoperability, security compliance, and mission effectiveness. - Participate in design reviews, technical baselines, and architecture governance boards. Qualifications - B.S. in Engineering discipline, Computer Science, IT/Networking, or Applied Physics. - Min 10 years of relevant experience including work on classified secure systems in support of mission operations, aligned with Key Responsibilities of the position. - Active DoD TS/ SCI Clearance is required to be considered for this position. Requirements - Moderate travel requirements: 20% - 50%. - Standard working hours: 40hrs per week.
