Title: Patient Registration Rep II Location: Germantown United States Job Description: Employment Type: Part time Shift: Night Shift Description: Job Title: Representative II, Patient Access Employment Type: Part-time Shift: Night (11:30pm -7am, Friday and Saturday, every other weekend) Location: Germantown Position Purpose - Responsible for obtaining and verifying demographic and financial information for all inpatients and outpatients prior to or during the registration process. As a "Representative I, Patient Access" you will: - Excellent customer service skills are utilized in all dealings with patients, family members, physician offices, third party payers and co-workers. - Financial/insurance information is communicated to case management and financial counseling staff when appropriate. Completes all managed care notification requirements. - Maintains patient confidentiality and always adheres to hospital privacy and security policies. - May be required to enter laboratory and radiology orders, when necessary. - Minimizes the financial risk of providing services by assessing the patient's financial status, verifying and entering accurate patient information into the registration system, obtaining signatures on all required hospital and regulatory forms and obtaining applicable patient payments prior to or at the time services are provided. Minimum Qualifications: - High School graduate or GED - Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in both verbal and written form. Fluency in both English and Spanish preferred.  Spanish may be required for this position in specific settings. - Two-year experience in a hospital and/or other health care setting, preferably in registration, billing, cash collections or insurance requirements. Familiarity with third party/insurance payers and medical terminology preferred. - Proficiency in the use of computers. Specifically, Microsoft products and email. - Typing skills of 45 wpm or higher required. - Excellent telephone customer service skills, strong interpersonal communication, problem solving and organizational skills. - Willingness to transport patients by wheelchair, meet patient age-specific needs, - Ability to stand for long periods of time. Pay Range: $17.89 - $25.04 Pay is based on experience, skills, and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates. The pay range may also vary within the stated range based on location. Core Job Summary The Contact Center Associate 2 supports functions that assist in creating and driving a culture of empathy, service excellence and delivery of patient centered care that impacts the patient experience across the UHealth System. The incumbent is possesses a high-level of proficiency with consistent levels of quality and productivity. In addition, the incumbent serves as a subject matter expert in their assigned areas of support, providing guidance to their peers and assisting in on the job training for new hires. This position involves the delivery of courteous and efficient service to patients, accurate documentation and verification of patient registration information, and professional and timely communications with physicians, medical staff, and administrators. This position requires the ability to utilize the EPIC scheduling system to search for appointments across multiple physicians, resources, specialties and sites while utilizing expertise in medical triage and understanding of government and commercial insurance requirements to ensure patients are scheduled with the appropriate provider timely.
