Role Description Everforth ECS is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to work remotely. This position involves: - Design integration experience with shipboard mechanical systems. - Providing technical evaluation of vendors' proposed system designs. - Assessing design maturity and expected performance of systems to meet operational requirements. - Writing technical papers on the technical risk of systems meeting USCG/ABS design standards. - Demonstrating personal experience designing or using onboard piping systems (hydraulics, ships auxiliaries, HVAC, fuel distribution, water production, etc.). - Cost estimation of proposed ship construction changes. - Site visits to perform root cause analysis of shipboard failures. Salary range is based on years of experience: $55,000-$125,000. Qualifications - BS degree in Mechanical or Marine Engineering. - Must be a US Citizen with the ability to pass and obtain a Public Trust clearance. - Four (4) to twelve (12) years’ experience in the shipbuilding industry in the mechanical engineering discipline. - Ability to perform requirements analysis; concept design and development; feasibility studies; and systems integration. - Knowledge of industry construction standards for mechanical systems. - Ability to review/modify drawings and have good technical writing skills. - Thorough understanding of ABS, USCG, and other regulatory agencies' rules as it pertains to shipboard systems. - Ability to work remotely/independently with minimal supervision. This role requires deep expertise in liquid cooling technologies (single-phase and two-phase), hydronic system design, structural integration, and manufacturable rack-level infrastructure solutions. This role is responsible for defining system performance requirements, developing technical specifications, selection and integration of critical components, and leading mechanical design from concept through production release.
