Control Systems Engineer

Role Description In this role, you will participate in the design, development, and evaluation of control systems components and processes. You will collaborate and support other engineering disciplines for control systems matters. Your professional work knowledge and abilities through the application of standard control systems engineering techniques will enable you to make impactful contributions to the team. Major Responsibilities - Evaluates, selects, and applies standard Control Systems engineering methods, techniques, procedures, and criteria, using independent judgment in making adaptations and modifications. - Participates in the design, development, modification and evaluation of control systems components and processes utilizing relevant Engineering Department Procedures (EDPs), design standards and guides, and Bechtel Standard Application Programs (BSAPs). - Coordinates work and collaborates with other engineering disciplines. - Provides technical assistance to other Control Systems personnel and interacts with project functions, the customer, and regulatory agency personnel in the resolution of complex regulatory issues and industry codes and standards. - Provides assistance to project and construction management in identifying and complying with project Control Systems requirements and in addressing issues as they arise during project execution. - Prepares or assists in preparation of conceptual studies, designs, reports, or proposals. - Design and review of Piping and Instrument Diagrams (P&IDs) for various plant systems. - Preparation of design and design change packages. - Coordination of work and collaboration with other engineering disciplines and functions. - Origination and review of setpoint calculations. - Specification and application of instrumentation and general control valves/appurtances. - Generation of instrument and control valve data sheets and material requisitions. - Design and review of binary and analog control logic. - Data entry to instrumentation, valve, and I/O databases. - Design and application of tubing and instrument installations, etc. - Allocation and layout of facility control system I/O. - Coordination of physical locations of instrumentation, control valves, control cabinets, etc. - Design and review of cabinet layouts. - Design and review control systems graphic displays. - Review of supplier (or subcontractor) provided data and documentation. - Participate in supplier factory acceptance testing. - Perform plant/site walkdowns and generate walkdown notes/packages. - Review of control system network architecture. - Perform other related work as assigned by Engineering Supervisor. Qualifications - Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 2-5 years of relevant experience or 6-9 years of relevant work experience. Requirements - Must be fluent in Polish and have the right to live and work in Poland without sponsorship. - Experience in power plant or other industrial process facility design. - Knowledge of industry and regulatory guides, codes, and standards pertinent to control systems engineering and nuclear industry (US, EU, PL) (e.g., IEC, ISA, ISO, ASME, DIN and/or ANSI/IEEE). - Excellent written and verbal communication skills. - Proficiency with Microsoft 365 application suite (e.g., Word, Excel, Access, Visio, PowerPoint, etc.). - Proficient knowledge of control systems engineering work processes, procedures, and specifications. - Willingness to travel on business trips in support of the project to client, supplier, business partner facilities or to site, as required. - Familiar with or course work in control theory. - Familiar with industry wide Control Systems system calculation/design tools (e.g., instrument set-point calculation software, CAD 2D and loop designing software, etc.). - Progress toward obtaining Poland Professional Engineering License (SEP).
