Senior Backend Software Developer, Platform & Services

• Design and build robust backend services that enable Hive's marketing platform to scale • Own features end-to-end, from architecture and implementation through deployment and production support • Build and optimize high-throughput data pipelines processing billions of customer data points • Collaborate with product teams to design scalable APIs and integrate with external platforms like Ticketmaster and Shopify • Enhance application performance and reliability across the stack • Implement comprehensive monitoring and observability for the services you build

Job Requirements

  • 7+ years building backend services and APIs at scale
  • Strong experience with AWS (or similar cloud platforms)
  • Demonstrated expertise in Python/Django, database design, API design, distributed systems
  • Experience owning production services, including participating in on-call rotations and incident response
  • Experience with high-volume data processing and real-time systems
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams and explain complex technical concepts clearly.

The Data Services team designs, manages, and optimizes critical backend data infrastructure and pipelines supporting AssetWatch’s condition monitoring and predictive maintenance solutions. Our team maintains and evolves serverless architectures, builds robust APIs, ensures efficient database operations, and drives improvements in data ingestion and alerting systems.
