Role Description This role is in support of Cencora's veterinary and livestock production solutions marketed through our MWI Animal Health business. MWI Animal Health is a leading brand, offering animal health services throughout the United States. Under the direction of the Sr. Director of Production Animal Strategic Partnerships, the Senior Strategic Account Manager, Animal Health uses advanced consultative and strategic sales approach and tactics to grow penetration and profitability of MWI solutions to existing (and to-be-prospected) strategic and highly integrated, national and regional customers in the animal health business segment. The Senior Strategic Account Manager, Animal Health is accountable for creating the strategy and implementation plan for promoting the key account business vision. This involves close collaboration with: - Sales leadership - Internal stakeholders - Extended livestock sales teams Primary Duties and Responsibilities: - Development of a Strategic Account Business Plan that supports new and profitable business growth for assigned production animal strategic accounts within MWI Animal Health, including specific sales strategies, objectives, and tactics. - Ability to develop opportunities and solutions with existing customers and develop new business relationships with emerging partners. - Strong collaboration with sale territory managers, regional account managers, and regional directors on corporate account strategy and execution of that strategy in the field. - Active pursuit of qualified and prioritized business opportunities - with a focus on key identified targets. - Closing of new business through effective consultative sales and negotiation processes. - Interface with MWI Animal Health internal departments, including account set-up, pricing, logistics, sourcing, marketing, and production animal support to elevate the customer experience and improve business efficiency. - Ongoing monitoring of current market landscape for new business development related opportunities and challenges, with transfer of relevant information to appropriate MWI Animal Health associates. - Appropriate business-related travel as needed. - Coordination and oversight of proposal process including document templates, quality assurance, document management, and contract adherence. - Engagement at select industry events as a positive representative of MWI Animal Health. - Other duties and tasks as required and assigned. Qualifications - Minimum 10 years’ experience in animal health sales, pharmaceutical sales, marketing, or biotechnology experience. - University Degree in Science or Management, post-graduate degree an asset. - Proven ability to network and develop new business relationships. Requirements - Advanced knowledge of pharmaceutical distribution industry. - Strong business and financial acumen. - Strong analytical and mathematical skills. - Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. - Effective interpersonal and leadership skills. - Effective organizational skills; attention to detail. - Ability to consistently meet deadlines. - Excellent problem-solving skills; ability to resolve issues effectively and efficiently. - Excellent presentation skills. - Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and other Office Programs.
