Job Description
Senior Mendix Front-End Consultant
Mendix
• Acting as the lead frontend developer on Expert Services engagements with Mendix customers, owning delivery quality and scalability. • Advising and guiding customers in maximizing the user interface of their Mendix applications, enabling them to become self-sufficient on the platform. • Developing reusable UI elements using CSS, SASS, HTML5, and React, leveraging the Mendix Atlas UI Framework across Responsive, PWA, and Native contexts. • Making autonomous, informed visual and UX decisions on projects without dedicated design resources — ensuring applications remain polished, consistent, and user-centered. • Translating business requirements directly into intuitive UI designs, owning the full journey from concept to implementation. • Establishing and maintaining visual consistency across applications through self-directed application of design systems, typography, spacing, and color theory. • Facilitating project meetings and Scrum ceremonies, championing Scrum methodologies with customer stakeholders. • Contributing to internal documentation, UI patterns, and best practice sharing within the Expert Services team. • Building your project portfolio and brand within the Mendix developer community by creating and sharing valuable frontend content.
Job Requirements
- 4+ years of experience in frontend development and/or consulting and app delivery.
- Proficiency in CSS, SASS, HTML5, and React; React Native experience is a strong plus.
- A demonstrable design eye — the ability to make autonomous aesthetic and UX decisions that meet professional design standards without explicit designer guidance.
- A portfolio that showcases not just technical implementation but thoughtful, visually refined UI work. (Required as part of your application.)
- Familiarity with design tools such as Figma, with the ability to create wireframes or mockups independently when needed.
- Working knowledge of accessibility standards (WCAG) and responsive design principles to ensure quality outcomes regardless of project team composition.
- Experience developing mobile-friendly, responsive web applications.
- Mendix Advanced Certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Proven ability to build trusted client relationships and navigate complex project dynamics.
- Relevant degree in Computer Science or a related field.
