Job Description

Associate Media Director

QRY

• You serve as the strategic lead across paid media and paid search for your pod, tying media strategies directly to client business models and broader growth targets (LTV expansion, CAC efficiency, CPL targets, etc). • You proactively identify performance improvements through emerging platform features, best practices, and competitor analysis, and develop test plans for campaign launches, audience expansion, and cross-channel integrations. • You own department-level initiatives that impact performance, such as improving onboarding flow, refining naming conventions, or building internal playbooks. • You lead strategic direction on your pod’s accounts and reports, especially those with the highest media spend, stakeholder complexity, or performance sensitivity. • You lead forecasting across your pod, ensuring each client has a realistic, data-backed forecast that maps to their budget, funnel stage, and goals. • You identify churn risk early and develop mitigation strategies, and you find opportunities to expand into new platforms, tactics, or budget growth. • You line-manage two strategists within your pod (Paid Search Strategist and Paid Media Strategist), facilitating 1:1s, yearly reviews, and training plans. • You coach direct reports on both tactical execution and strategic thinking, and guide your team through tough client interactions with transparency and composure. • You regularly review bandwidth and sentiment to prevent burnout and proactively redistribute workload when needed. • You monitor department-level KPIs including account retention, media margin, forecasting accuracy, delivery quality, and team performance. • You lead initiatives that drive efficiency (SOPs for build audits, automation templates, naming conventions) and partner with the Head of Media to iterate on departmental workflows and goals. • You bring insights to leadership on client risk, team performance, or platform shifts that may affect revenue.

Job Requirements

  • Experience: You have 6+ years of hands-on paid media management experience, ideally in an agency environment. You’ve worked across channels like Google, Meta, TikTok, Amazon, Programmatic, and CTV in both ecommerce and lead generation verticals (finance experience is a nice to have!)
  • Education: Ideally, you hold a bachelor’s degree in marketing or a related field.
  • Strategic Thinking: You have demonstrable experience thinking strategically, identifying opportunities, and developing effective plans to achieve client objectives.
  • Leadership Skills: You have 2+ years of people management experience. You lead by example, effectively manage and motivate teams, and contribute to a positive work environment.
  • Communication: Your communication skills are top-notch. You’re confident presenting to senior stakeholders and skilled at simplifying complex media concepts for non-technical audiences.
  • Analytical Mindset: You’re an analytical thinker who can interpret data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions using tools like Google Analytics or Shopify.
  • Industry Passion: The digital marketing, advertising, and agency space excite you, whether the client is scaling an ecommerce brand or driving qualified leads.
  • Continuous Learner: You stay updated with the latest trends in digital advertising and marketing, always expanding your knowledge base.
  • Remote Work Environment: You understand the importance of a clean, quiet workspace suitable for video conferencing and smooth virtual collaboration.

Benefits

  • Competitive salary. Market-rate salary of $100,000 - $115,000 per year, based on experience, plus quarterly bonuses tied to company revenue.
  • USA remote flexibility. Choose your ideal workspace, whether it’s your home office or a coffee shop.
  • Time off made easy. Take advantage of our unlimited PTO policy and our 14 paid company holidays.
  • Comprehensive healthcare. Exceptional health, dental, and vision insurance, fully covered for employees by QRY. Plus a $100 monthly wellbeing budget.
  • Secure your future. Participate in our 401k program with a company match.
  • Growth and development. QRY invests in L&D through growth opportunities, role matrices, skill assessments, and a dedicated Learning & Development Philosophy + Policy.
  • Latest tech. Team members are provided with the latest MacBook Pro and a one-time $500 stipend to set up their at-home workspace.
  • Celebrate and connect. Annual team retreats, weekly Coffee Chats, and monthly Happy Hours.
