Role Description We’re looking for an Associate Media Director to join our team, owning cross-channel media strategy and leading a team of strategists within a single delivery pod of 5–8 clients. If you have experience leading cross-channel strategies, managing people, and driving results in the digital advertising world, this could be a great fit. You should be strategic, collaborative, intellectually curious, and ready to go deep on client performance. Your day-to-day - Strategy + Execution: - Serve as the strategic lead across paid media and paid search for your pod. - Tie media strategies directly to client business models and broader growth targets (LTV expansion, CAC efficiency, CPL targets, etc). - Proactively identify performance improvements through emerging platform features, best practices, and competitor analysis. - Develop test plans for campaign launches, audience expansion, and cross-channel integrations. - Own department-level initiatives that impact performance. - Client Ownership + Reporting: - Lead strategic direction on your pod’s accounts and reports. - Ensure each client has a realistic, data-backed forecast that maps to their budget, funnel stage, and goals. - Identify churn risk early and develop mitigation strategies. - Find opportunities to expand into new platforms, tactics, or budget growth. - Team Leadership + Development: - Line-manage two strategists within your pod. - Facilitate 1:1s, yearly reviews, and training plans. - Coach direct reports on both tactical execution and strategic thinking. - Regularly review bandwidth and sentiment to prevent burnout. - Operational Excellence: - Monitor department-level KPIs including account retention, media margin, forecasting accuracy, delivery quality, and team performance. - Lead initiatives that drive efficiency. - Bring insights to leadership on client risk, team performance, or platform shifts that may affect revenue. How you win - Pod performance: Your pod consistently hits agreed KPI targets across all clients. - Strategic depth: You go deep on each account, running disciplined test programs. - Team development: Your direct reports grow and feel supported. - Client relationships: You earn trust through responsive communication. - Operational excellence: Forecasts are accurate and reports are delivered on time. Qualifications - 6+ years of hands-on paid media management experience, ideally in an agency environment. - Experience across channels like Google, Meta, TikTok, Amazon, Programmatic, and CTV. - Ideally, a bachelor’s degree in marketing or a related field. - Demonstrable experience thinking strategically and developing effective plans. - 2+ years of people management experience. - Top-notch communication skills, confident presenting to senior stakeholders. - Analytical thinker who can interpret data and make data-driven decisions. - Passion for the digital marketing, advertising, and agency space. - Continuous learner, staying updated with the latest trends in digital advertising. - Understanding of the importance of a clean, quiet workspace suitable for video conferencing. • You serve as the strategic lead across paid media and paid search for your pod, tying media strategies directly to client business models and broader growth targets (LTV expansion, CAC efficiency, CPL targets, etc). • You proactively identify performance improvements through emerging platform features, best practices, and competitor analysis, and develop test plans for campaign launches, audience expansion, and cross-channel integrations. • You own department-level initiatives that impact performance, such as improving onboarding flow, refining naming conventions, or building internal playbooks. • You lead strategic direction on your pod’s accounts and reports, especially those with the highest media spend, stakeholder complexity, or performance sensitivity. • You lead forecasting across your pod, ensuring each client has a realistic, data-backed forecast that maps to their budget, funnel stage, and goals. • You identify churn risk early and develop mitigation strategies, and you find opportunities to expand into new platforms, tactics, or budget growth. • You line-manage two strategists within your pod (Paid Search Strategist and Paid Media Strategist), facilitating 1:1s, yearly reviews, and training plans. • You coach direct reports on both tactical execution and strategic thinking, and guide your team through tough client interactions with transparency and composure. • You regularly review bandwidth and sentiment to prevent burnout and proactively redistribute workload when needed. • You monitor department-level KPIs including account retention, media margin, forecasting accuracy, delivery quality, and team performance. • You lead initiatives that drive efficiency (SOPs for build audits, automation templates, naming conventions) and partner with the Head of Media to iterate on departmental workflows and goals. • You bring insights to leadership on client risk, team performance, or platform shifts that may affect revenue.
