Role Description The Database Management Lead provides strategic, architectural, and operational leadership for multi-cloud Database Management Services. This role ensures database platforms are secure, scalable, automated, compliant, and resilient, while meeting 24x7 availability and contracted service level commitments. Key Responsibilities - Provide technical and operational leadership for SQL Server and Oracle platforms across AWS, Azure, GCP, and OCI. - Own and govern end-to-end database lifecycle management, including: - Secure provisioning and configuration - Backup, restore, patching, and upgrades - Encryption, replication, disaster recovery, archiving, and decommissioning - Define and enforce database lifecycle policies for: - Object and data retention - Backup strategies and recovery objectives - Encryption standards (at rest and in transit) - Lead automation strategy for database services, including: - Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) patterns using Terraform - Cloud-native templates (AWS CloudFormation, Azure ARM/Bicep, GCP Deployment Manager, OCI Resource Manager) - Oversee automated database provisioning and configuration pipelines. - Establish and enforce physical DBA standards, including: - Instance configuration baselines - Storage and performance profiles - Patching and upgrade schedules - Direct 7x24 operational readiness, availability, and escalation processes. - Lead performance engineering and optimization, including: - Capacity forecasting and trend analysis - Stress testing and load validation - Advanced tuning strategies - Govern database security architecture, including: - IAM-based access controls across all clouds - Encryption key management - SIEM integration and auditing - Ensure restricted and sensitive data identification, CMDB accuracy, and compliance reporting. - Validate customer-deployed databases and enforce enrollment into managed services. - Lead disaster recovery strategy, testing, and execution. - Develop and maintain enterprise runbooks, SOPs, and automation standards. - Provide mentorship and escalation support to SMEs and Engineers. - Participate in governance forums to align DBMS services with evolving standards and technologies. Qualifications - 10+ years of enterprise database management experience - 5+ years delivering Database-as-a-Service (DBaaS) in public cloud environments - 5+ years in a technical team leadership role, managing teams of engineers supporting operations 24/7 - Experience with these Technologies: - Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle Database - AWS, Azure, GCP, Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) - Terraform and Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) Requirements - Must be a US citizen or Green card holder to proceed with applying. - An FBI CJIS Background check is administered every 12 months. - This position aligns with supporting a 24*7 operations production support model.
