Senior AI Product Engineer

CivicPlus

• Design, develop, and deploy end-to-end product features across the full technology stack, including frontend interfaces, backend services, APIs, and AI-powered functionality. • Architect and maintain scalable, secure backend systems and data models for a multi-tenant SaaS environment. • Integrate and operate LLM-based features such as streaming outputs, structured outputs, tool and function calling, retrieval-augmented generation, and multi-step agents in production systems. • Leverage Claude and contribute to agent orchestration processes that improve product capability and development efficiency. • Evaluate and adopt emerging AI tools, frameworks, and evaluation methods to improve team productivity and product performance. • Collaborate directly with customers and stakeholders to gather feedback, validate features, and help inform roadmap decisions. • Implement observability, monitoring, and logging to diagnose issues and debug systems using telemetry and production data. • Establish and maintain testing strategies, including evaluation frameworks for non-deterministic AI outputs. • Document system architecture, APIs, and engineering practices to support maintainability and team scalability. • Ensure compliance with security, privacy, and regulatory requirements in a multi-tenant SaaS and AI-driven environment. • Partner cross-functionally with teams such as product and design to align technical solutions with user needs and experience goals. • Use agentic coding tools as a primary development workflow and help shape the team’s approach to agent orchestration in software development. • Perform other duties as assigned by leadership.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field preferred, or equivalent work experience.
  • Proven experience using Claude Code, Cursor, or similar agentic coding tools in a production development workflow.
  • Experience integrating LLM APIs into production systems, including streaming, structured outputs, tool and function calling, retrieval-augmented generation, or multi-step agents.
  • Ideally 8+ years of strong full-stack engineering experience in production AWS environments.
  • Strong proficiency in HTML and JavaScript.
  • Ability to design and architect scalable systems and APIs.
  • Experience with observability tools and debugging via telemetry.
  • Strong product mindset focused on user outcomes and continuous improvement.
  • Ability to evaluate tradeoffs in complex, unfamiliar systems.
  • Strong communication skills and comfort working directly with customers.

Lead Air Dispersion Modeler Remote We have an exciting opportunity available for an experienced and motivated Air Dispersion Modeler to join our Air Quality Management Services Practice in a remote/work from home capacity. The successful candidate will lead emissions and air quality modeling and environmental data analysis projects and support the continued growth of our Practice. Key Responsibilities • Lead air quality impact analysis projects including input data collection, managing interaction with Project Managers and clients, directing junior team members on specific tasks, interpretation of results, and providing technical guidance for successful completion of the projects. • Lead air quality impact analysis using USEPA’s air dispersion models such as AERMOD and CALPUFF and associated pre-processors and post-processors software. • Visualize, analyze, and interpret model data and other environmental datasets as necessary to meet project objectives. • Prepare technical reports and communicate results to project teams and clients, as required. • Mentor junior team members in developing understanding of air dispersion modeling techniques. • Contribute to EDGE’s visibility by actively participating in professional organizations and making presentations in technical conferences. Requirements • A strong interest in air quality impact analysis • A bachelor’s degree in the physical sciences, environmental sciences, or engineering. Advanced degrees are preferred. • Experience in air quality modeling projects using AERMOD. Experience using CALPUFF is preferred. • Strong technical and data analysis skills. • Excellent communication, organization, time management, and problem-solving skills. • Ability and willingness to grow through on-the-job internal and external training. • 7 years + related air quality impact analysis experience. Desired Qualifications • Knowledge of atmospheric processes related to air quality and impact analysis. • Experience in data analysis. • Experience in mobile source activity analysis (e.g., travel activity modeling), emissions modeling (e.g., using EPA MOVES), or similar transportation-related air quality analysis.
