AI Product Engineer

• Design, develop, and deploy end-to-end product features across the full stack, including frontend interfaces, backend services, APIs, and AI-enabled functionality. • Build and maintain scalable backend services and data models that support a multi-tenant SaaS application. • Integrate LLM-based features into product workflows with attention to cost, latency, and reliability in production environments. • Use agentic coding tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, or similar solutions as part of the development workflow and help improve engineering practices. • Evaluate emerging AI and software development tools and recommend practical improvements where they can add value. • Partner with product, design, and other cross-functional teammates to deliver features aligned to user needs and product goals. • Use customer feedback to refine features, identify issues, and guide continuous product improvement. • Implement logging, monitoring, and observability practices to troubleshoot issues using production data and system metrics. • Develop and maintain test coverage, including basic evaluation methods for AI-driven features to support reliability and accuracy. • Document system components, APIs, and development workflows to improve maintainability and knowledge sharing.
Job Requirements
- 2+ years of experience shipping production software as a full-stack engineer.
- Backend development experience in a typed language such as Go, Python, TypeScript, or a similar language.
- Some experience integrating LLM APIs into real-world projects, such as streaming, structured outputs, or basic retrieval-augmented generation (RAG).
- Experience working in AWS environments and troubleshooting with logs and monitoring tools such as CloudWatch.
- Hands-on experience using Claude Code, Cursor, or equivalent agentic coding tools in a software development workflow.
- Working knowledge of HTML and JavaScript.
- Strong problem-solving skills, sound judgment, and the ability to learn unfamiliar systems quickly.
- A product mindset with attention to user experience, continuous improvement, and customer feedback.
- Strong communication skills and a willingness to engage with customers.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field preferred, or equivalent work experience.

Requirements • A strong interest in air quality impact analysis • A bachelor’s degree in the physical sciences, environmental sciences, or engineering. Advanced degrees are preferred. • Experience in air quality modeling projects using AERMOD. Experience using CALPUFF is preferred. • Strong technical and data analysis skills. • Excellent communication, organization, time management, and problem-solving skills. • Ability and willingness to grow through on-the-job internal and external training. • 7 years + related air quality impact analysis experience. Desired Qualifications • Knowledge of atmospheric processes related to air quality and impact analysis. • Experience in data analysis. • Experience in mobile source activity analysis (e.g., travel activity modeling), emissions modeling (e.g., using EPA MOVES), or similar transportation-related air quality analysis.
