Role Description You will be: - designing and implementing new functionalities for a real-time threat detection platform, - building and extending streaming pipelines using Apache Flink, - developing business logic mainly in Flink SQL, with critical components implemented using Java Datastream API, - maintaining and troubleshooting production-grade distributed systems, - improving platform performance, scalability, and reliability, - supporting internal teams using the solution, - evaluating new technologies and building proof-of-concepts for specific use cases, - contributing to the continuous development of an internal platform for managing Flink SQL jobs, - having opportunities to contribute to open-source projects. Qualifications - strong hands-on experience with Apache Flink, - solid experience with Flink SQL, - practical knowledge of Java, especially in distributed/streaming systems, - experience working with Apache Kafka, - good understanding of Kubernetes, - experience with Flink Kubernetes Operator, - familiarity with pyFlink, - ability to work independently and take ownership of technical solutions, - strong problem-solving skills in complex distributed environments, - good communication skills and collaborative mindset, - fluent English, - practical experience using AI-powered assistants (e.g. Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, Cursor) to improve productivity, quality, or decision-making in software delivery. • Design and develop core backend systems including market connectivity, order routing, execution engine, risk, and position tracking. • Implement ultra-low-latency and GC-free components using best practices in lock-free and off-heap programming. • Apply event-driven and fully deterministic design principles to ensure traceable and predictable system behavior. • Collaborate closely with product and trading teams to translate requirements into performant, production-ready solutions. • Participate in performance profiling, JVM tuning, and debugging complex issues in production. • Develop and maintain automated test suites and CI/CD pipelines. • Engage in code reviews, architecture discussions, and technical audits to ensure high standards across the codebase. • Use AI-driven coding tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot or similar) to accelerate development and improve productivity where appropriate.

• Technical leadership • Define and drive the technical strategy for migrating our Core Domains by faithfully reproducing our custom PHP framework in Python using FastAPI • Own architectural decisions to ensure a progressive, non-disruptive migration: controlled code duplication, gradual traffic shift from the old stack to the new • Design the patterns and abstractions required so the new Python framework is functionally equivalent to the old one while meeting modern standards • Establish technical standards and best practices for decommissioning legacy systems • Mentor and upskill a backend squad specialized in the migration • Collaborate with other squad leads to ensure coherent platform evolution • Drive technical decision-making and resolve the most complex architectural challenges • Foster a culture of technical excellence and continuous improvement • Ensure functional parity between the old and new stacks: data stored in the old system must be accessible identically in the new system
