Qualifications - 5+ years of experience building backend systems. - 4+ years of hands-on experience with Scala. - Experience building RESTful APIs / WebSockets. - Proficient in Scala and its ecosystem (e.g., Akka, Play Framework, SBT). - Experience working with distributed messaging systems such as Kafka, ActiveMQ, RabbitMQ, etc. - Experience with microservices architecture. - Containerisation technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes). - Deep understanding of software design patterns, distributed systems theory, data structures, and algorithms. - Experience with database technologies (SQL and NoSQL). - Experience with cloud services (AWS, GCP) and CI/CD pipelines. - Experience with system observability - logging, metrics, tracing (e.g., OpenTelemetry, Datadog, Grafana). - Strong written and verbal communication skills in English (B2+). - Proven ability to lead technical discussions and collaborate across teams in a multicultural environment. - Strong ownership mindset, proactive in identifying risks and driving technical decisions.
