It is comprised of regulated utility and non-utility businesses. Our two regulated utilities (DTE Electric and DTE Gas) serve more than 3 million customers in Southeastern Michigan. Our non-utility businesses include DTE Energy Trading and DTE Vantage. DTE Energy is seeking ambitious, energetic individuals to join its Corporate Strategy group. The group is comprised of former consultants from top-tier strategy firms, investment bankers, finance professionals, and recent MBA graduates. The group is led by the VP of Corporate Strategy, who works closely with DTE's CEO, CFO, and Business Unit Presidents on various strategic initiatives. Key Accountabilities The Corporate Strategy group works with all DTE businesses to address the complex challenges facing the energy industry today. As an Associate in the group, the candidate will have the opportunity to contribute to strategic initiatives. Examples include: - Understanding industry trends and their implications for DTE, e.g., by assessing the impact of new technologies like distributed energy resources on the company's operations and bottom line - Analyzing the value and the risks of major capital investments, such as the rebuilding of the electric grid and developing DTE's long-term technology investment strategy - Supporting corporate-level M&A activity, most recently running the Separation Management Office during DTE's recent spin-off of DT Midstream - Driving efforts to transform our operations, through cost and rate benchmarking and by driving efforts to improve productivity and work management processes in our operating businesses; and - Facilitating senior management's strategic planning process, including the preparation of the annual strategic Board offsite discussions This group has also become an important feeder of top talent for the company. Minimum Education & Experience Requirements We are seeking candidates with an MBA from a top-tier program and a minimum of 3-5 years of work experience, ideally in management consulting, investment banking, or other highly rigorous environments. Additionally, candidates with a quantitative undergraduate degree (e.g., engineering, economics, finance or similar) and 5+ years of work experience in management consulting, investment banking and/or the energy industry are encouraged to apply.
