Role Description We are sharing a specialised part-time consulting opportunity for professionals experienced in mechanical engineering, industrial engineering, manufacturing engineering, design review, CAD workflows, tolerance analysis, and structured engineering documentation processes. • Create models, drawings, and configurations of hardware with a focus on mechanical systems including tooling, mechanisms, and routed systems. • Generate component and assembly product definition by preparing design layouts and drawings, modifying existing designs and resolving design discrepancies. • Implement engineering and manufacturing best practices to achieve a balanced approach to cost, schedule, and performance requirements. • Collaborate closely with structural, thermal, and nuclear teams to implement and optimize design based on system requirements. • Identify and execute design improvements to optimize performance, manufacturability, and cost. • Perform model and drawing check activities during release reviews. • Release component models and drawings for manufacturing per internal release and review processes.
• Designs truss components and truss repairs for MiTek customers and creatively solve engineering issues our customers have. • Creatively design field repairs for truss components in accordance with acceptable engineering principles and judgment. • Design truss components based on specified parameters from customers and use their knowledge of engineering and the building codes along with collaboration with other engineers in the office to ensure their designs protect the health safety and welfare of the public. • Discusses design modifications and reviews appropriate design methodologies with customers. • Assist, train and counsel customers in troubleshooting issues and design problems. • Review results of the truss design software for accuracy and collaborate with other engineers and with the software development team to determine how the software should function. • Collaborate with engineers, architects and building officials on customer component design projects.
