DevOps Engineer

Uni Systems

• Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Tekton and GitHub Actions • Manage and optimize containerized environments using Docker and Kubernetes (with a focus on OpenShift) • Implement and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) for scalable and repeatable environments • Oversee secret management solutions (e.g., HashiCorp Vault) to ensure secure handling of sensitive data • Manage certificate lifecycle, including issuance, renewal, and revocation • Support and improve system networking and infrastructure reliability • Implement monitoring, logging, and distributed tracing to ensure system observability and performance • Collaborate with Development and Architecture teams to enable efficient and secure application delivery • Embed security best practices into the SDLC (Secure SDLC and Security by Design principles) • Develop and enforce compliance controls, policies, and automation mechanisms

Job Requirements

  • University degree
  • Minimum of 6 years of experience in IT
  • Minimum 3 years of experience as a DevOps Engineer, Automation Architecture, and/or CI/CD Engineering
  • Strong experience with containerization technologies, particularly Docker
  • Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, ideally with OpenShift
  • Experience building CI/CD pipelines (Tekton, GitHub Actions preferred)
  • Knowledge of secret management tools such as HashiCorp Vault
  • Understanding of certificate management and PKI concepts
  • Solid understanding of networking fundamentals
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible, or similar)
  • Familiarity with monitoring and observability tools (metrics, logs, traces)
  • Strong understanding of secure SDLC practices and security-by-design principles
  • Experience with compliance frameworks and automated policy enforcement would be a plus
  • Familiarity with service meshes and advanced Kubernetes networking would be an advantage
  • Experience working in regulated environments would be a plus
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with Developers, Security, and Architecture teams
  • Problem-solving mindset with attention to detail
  • Proactive approach to improving systems and processes
  • Excellent command of the English language (verbal & written)

This AI factory in Germany will host 10,000 GPUs across NVIDIA DGX B200 systems and RTX Pro Servers. Deutsche Telekom provides secure, sovereign, and fast infrastructure, including data centers, operations, security, and AI solutions. As a DevOps Engineer Professional (Principal) / AI Consultant Customer Facing Engineer, you will guide enterprise customers through onboarding, training, and early adoption of the AI platform. Your responsibilities include: - Understanding customer requirements and supporting solution design. - Executing Proofs of Concept (PoCs) and ensuring smooth integration of customer workloads (LLMs, GPU compute, AI pipelines). - Acting as a trusted technical advisor, helping customers efficiently use their GPU clusters and AI toolchains. We are looking for a DevOps Engineer Professional / Senior Customer Facing position who will play a key role in helping our enterprise customers successfully adopt and scale our AI platform. In this position, you will: - Guide clients through onboarding, training, and early-stage implementation of cutting-edge AI solutions. - Work closely with them to understand their technical and business needs. - Support the design of tailored architectures and lead Proofs of Concept that validate real-world value. - Ensure smooth integration of complex workloads — from LLM deployment and GPU compute optimization to building end-to-end AI/ML pipelines. - Empower customers to use their GPU clusters and AI toolchains efficiently, troubleshoot challenges, and adopt best practices that accelerate their AI journey. WHAT WILL YOU DO? - Consult customers on all technical aspects related to GPU infrastructure, AI/ML model training, and platform usage. - Lead onboarding and training, mentoring customer specialists on optimal usage of their GPU clusters and AI environments. - Design and implement PoCs, including environment setup, data processing pipelines, and deployment workflows. - Conduct requirement engineering, translating business needs into technical specifications. - Assist customers with performance optimization, troubleshooting, fine-tuning, and validation of delivered solutions. - Act as the key technical point of contact, coordinating cross-functional teams across infrastructure, networking, automation, security, and AI services. - Propose and develop automation concepts to improve services, processes, and operating models. - Ensure best practices in reliability, scalability, responsible AI, and security are applied across the customer lifecycle. - Support monitoring, observability, and capacity planning for AI workloads and GPU utilization. Qualifications - Master's degree in Information technologies. - 5+ years of experience in the design and delivery of systems based on IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS. - 3+ years of experience in building CI/CD pipelines and serverless architectures. - AI Factory Cloud platform SW stack knowledge including its dependencies on below layers. - NVIDIA GPU-Accelerated server platform knowledge. - Data Engineering, Data Transformation, Data Migration tools knowledge. - Solid knowledge of Kubernetes (or similar) container-based technologies. - Expert knowledge with VMware environments (VMware Tanzu Kubernetes). - Expert knowledge with scripting languages (Go/Python/Bash). - Expert knowledge with Automation tools and automation deployments (Ansible/Salt-stack/Terraform/Helm). - Expert knowledge with CI/CD in a Kubernetes environment and repository management. - Expert in automation with Git (GitHub, GitLab) and CI/CD tools like GitHub Actions or GitLab CI/CD. - Experience with Linux OS. - Experience with Software Defined Networking (SDN). - Experience with monitoring and visualization tools (Grafana, Prometheus, …). - Good communication skills, analytical thinking, team cooperation, presentation skills, negotiation skills. - Speak English - Advanced (C1), German is an advantage. - Project Management - Basic. - Leadership skills - Basic. - Quality management - Intermediate. - Financial literacy - Intermediate.
