Network Administrator
Crowell & Moring
• Performs technical and operational support for the firm’s networks and server infrastructure. • Implements security, operational patches and firmware updates to the firm’s firewall’s infrastructure, and other network equipment. • Collaborates with other staff professionals on day-to-day tasks and special projects. • Works with other technology groups internally and externally to resolve network issues, recommend networking configurations, and supports the connectivity for all the firm’s offices, applications, and equipment. • Responds to alerts from monitoring tools to ensure the overall health of the network. • Flexibility to assist with network issues after hours and on weekends, on an as-needed basis.
Job Requirements
- Knowledge of TCP/IP networks and related technologies such as VLANs, wireless access points, network cabling, IP addressing and subnetting.
- Ability to communicate with internet service providers and other vendors to troubleshoot and escalate connectivity and outages.
- Design and maintain network diagrams using Microsoft Visio or other mapping tools.
- Packet capture technologies such as Wireshark or Zeek.
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing with our end-users, vendors, and the public.
- Ability to apply technical knowledge or guidance, analyze and interpret data from several sources, solve problems by applying precedent or extrapolating from previous experience.
- Ability to document "Procedures and Instructions" in a technical format.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical users.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively work independently as an individual and with others in a cooperative, enthusiastic and friendly manner to accomplish position functions and participate in team efforts.

As the leader of the Network Engineering team within the IT function, you will be the technical authority on all things networking—from on-premises switching and firewalls across multiple office locations and datacenters, to Zscaler zero trust architecture, to AWS cloud networking. You will drive the evolution of our network from a traditional on-prem model toward a modern, software-defined, Infrastructure-as-Code-driven architecture while ensuring uninterrupted service to a regulated financial institution. You will report to the Head of IT and work closely with the security operations, cloud engineering, and support desk teams to deliver reliable, secure, and scalable network services across the organization. In this role you will: Network Architecture & Technical Leadership Design and continuously improve enterprise network architecture across all physical sites and AWS cloud environments.
