Job Description

Supply Chain Management, Sourcing Analyst

Otis Elevator Co.

• Review rope attributes and technical specifications submitted via standardized forms and accurately identify the appropriate internal Part Number (PN) • Work closely with Field and Engineering stakeholders to identify suitable specifications, qualified suppliers, and establish approved PNs for future use • Support ongoing alignment between engineering specifications and sourcing strategies to ensure Otis service and safety standards are met • Drive standardization of rope requirements to approved PNs and suppliers to reduce variation and field-level pain points • Identify, evaluate, and select qualified rope suppliers based on total cost, quality, lead time, capacity, and risk • Allocate orders to the best total cost supplier, considering material cost, logistics, lead time, and supplier performance • Identify opportunities to transition field demand to approved suppliers and preferred sourcing pathways • Realize category savings for rope commodities through sourcing strategies, supplier consolidation, and specification optimization • Seek, negotiate, and execute supply agreements to support dedicated spend with managed suppliers • Manage end-to-end order execution for rope commodities, from sourcing through delivery to the customer • Prepare purchase orders (POs) for non-Otis rope materials sourced from domestic and international suppliers in compliance with Otis Terms and Conditions • Ensure supplier PO and price confirmations; apply negotiating techniques to secure the supplier’s best offer • Manage logistics to ensure on-time delivery, proper inventory levels, and service performance metrics • Perform timely escalation of supply, quality, pricing, or delivery issues and drive resolution • Execute defined centralized sourcing processes in coordination with Field Operations, Engineering, and Operations stakeholders, supported by clearly documented standard operating procedures • Work with Field teams to understand application requirements and identify opportunities to shift demand to approved rope suppliers • Partner with Engineering to evaluate alternate suppliers and technical solutions for ropes not currently lined up • Drive toward the goal of 100% rope spend under management through centralization or purchasing pathway controls • Integrate spend data, field feedback, supplier performance, and delivery metrics into commodity strategies and roadmaps • Analyze and forecast demand to determine stock vs. catalog opportunities • Identify opportunities to expand and maintain rope offerings within the Field Requisition System (FRS) • Resolve discrepancies in purchase orders • Resolve material rejections • Manage price increases • Identify cost savings opportunities • Resolve invoicing issues

Job Requirements

  • Candidates must possess a BS or BA in business, supply chain, or engineering
  • Minimum of 2-5 years related experience in a supply chain/sourcing function
  • Experience in SDC/ JDE/ ERP systems
  • Microsoft products: Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Forms, SmartSheet, Teams
  • Ability to read Engineering drawings & customer Elevator / Escalator specification/requirement documentation required
  • Ability to work with various cross-functional groups, including Field Operations (Sales, Supervisors, Project Managers), Engineering, and Supplier Quality to ensure business goals are met
  • Must be able to work in and fully support a Team environment

Partner with manufacturers to manage ordering cadence, capacity limitations, and production schedules. Work with vendors to improve their reporting so it works for you. Manage and track rebates for component vendors. • Inventory management: Track component inventory health, aging, and excess/obsolete risks. Partner with the supplier, manufacturer, and quality to resolve quality issues on components and packaging. Determine the impact to your plan and create a mitigation plan. • Launches, Reformulations, Renovations: Support artwork changes, reformulations, and packaging transitions. Manage FG code changes, BOM changes, and new launch integration into the catalog. Guide end to end with all vendors. Partner with Product Development, Procurement, Demand Planning, and the suppliers to determine milestone dates (artwork release, PPS approval, first order timing, etc.) to support the transition plan. Communicate and track any risks and liabilities based on the transition plan for components. • S&OP: Support S&OP processes with supply insights and scenario planning. Review fluctuations in demand and validate the demand with the demand planning team if needed.
