We’re bending data to our will, and turning a stodgy industry on its head. That’s reflected in our ranking as the number one business technology innovator in the U.S. in the 2016 InformationWeek Elite 100.
Senior Digital Marketing Manager (Email) - Capital One Software (Remote) Capital One Software is the enterprise B2B software business of Capital One, dedicated to helping organizations manage their data in the cloud with speed, agility, and efficiency. Born out of our own digital transformation, we commercialize the internal tools that powered our journey to becoming the first major U.S. bank to go "all-in" on the public cloud. Our flagship products, Slingshot (data cloud optimization) and Databolt (data security), are designed to solve the most complex data management and AI-readiness challenges. Core Job Responsibilities Capital One Software is looking for a Senior Digital Marketing Manager to own the strategy and execution of our email marketing and lead nurturing engine. In this role, you will be the architect of our digital conversations, turning cold interest into loyal customers for our suite of data cloud management and data security tools. You will lead the transition from generic "batch-and-blast" emails to a sophisticated, behavior-triggered lifecycle program. Whether you are building a Trial-to-Paid conversion sequence or a high-touch ABM (Account-Based Marketing) nurture for enterprise stakeholders, your goal is to deliver the right message at the right time to drive measurable pipeline growth. - Own the E2E strategy for all lead nurturing programs. You will map the buyer's journey and build automated email sequences that align with specific stages (e.g., Cold-to-Warm, MQL-to-SQL, and Customer Expansion). - Leverage CRM data and intent signals to create highly segmented email lists. You will move beyond basic "First Name" tags to deliver deep personalization based on industry, tech stack, and persona pain points. - Maintain a rigorous testing roadmap for subject lines, CTAs, send times, and content formats. You will constantly iterate to improve open rates, CTRs, and-most importantly-bottom-of-funnel conversions. - Partner with Marketing Ops to refine lead scoring models based on email engagement data, ensuring the Sales team is prioritizing the most "sales-ready" leads. - Act as the primary email consultant for Campaign Managers and Content teams, ensuring all multi-channel campaigns (Webinars, Whitepapers, Events) have a high-converting email component. - Ensure all email activities adhere to Capital One's LRCC (Legal, Risk, Compliance) standards and international regulations (CAN-SPAM, GDPR). Basic Qualifications - Bachelor's Degree or military experience. - At least 5 years of experience in B2B Demand Generation or Email Marketing within the SaaS or Tech sector. - At least 5 experience building automated workflows in enterprise-grade platforms (Marketo, Groove, Gong). - At least 5 years of experience tracking, analyzing, and reporting email marketing performance with direct linkage to pipeline and revenue attribution. Preferred Qualifications - 7+ years experience navigating complex legal/compliance review cycles within financial services or a similarly regulated environment. - Basic knowledge of HTML/CSS for email template troubleshooting and experience with SQL for advanced database segmenting. - A strong portfolio of B2B email copy that is concise, professional, and action-oriented. - Familiarity with the broader B2B tech stack, including Salesforce (CRM), 6sense/Demandbase (ABM), and Snowflake (Data). • You'll write flow and campaign copy for brands across skincare, apparel, CPG, and wellness. • Welcome sequences, post-purchase flows, winbacks, abandon flows, campaign calendars, and promotional sends. • Every piece of copy you write will live inside a designed email layout, so you need to understand how your words interact with imagery, whitespace, module structure, and visual hierarchy.
Role Description We're a DTC retention and lifecycle marketing agency running email and SMS programs for exciting, rapidly scaling brands you've heard of. We need a copywriter who thinks visually and writes strategically. Important: This is not a direct response copywriting role. If your portfolio is plain-text sales emails, long-form advertorials, or funnel-style sequences with no design consideration, this isn't the right fit. We build designed, branded email experiences for DTC ecommerce brands. The copy and the design must work together to further the brand vision. What the work looks like: - You'll write flow and campaign copy for brands across skincare, apparel, CPG, and wellness. - Welcome sequences, post-purchase flows, winbacks, abandon flows, campaign calendars, and promotional sends. - Every piece of copy you write will live inside a designed email layout, so you need to understand how your words interact with imagery, whitespace, module structure, and visual hierarchy. Qualifications - You can look at two emails side by side and tell us which one is better and why, from both a copy and design standpoint. - You write with the final visual layout in mind. You think in sections and modules, not paragraphs. - You understand how copy length, headline weight, CTA placement, and image-to-text ratio affect performance. - You can match and adapt to distinct brand voices without everything reading like AI output. - You think about the reader's mindset at each touchpoint. A post-purchase email and a winback email require completely different energy. - You understand DTC fundamentals: product education, social proof, urgency, cross-sell, subscription conversion, and you know when each lever is appropriate. - You can articulate why you made a copy decision, not just what you wrote. Requirements - Klaviyo experience (flows, campaigns, dynamic content, Liquid basics). - Ability to concept email layouts alongside your copy, even as rough wireframes or annotated briefs. - Experience working with designers or handing off structured copy that maps to visual modules. Benefits - We're not anti-AI. If you use AI tools to work faster, ideate, draft, or scale your output, that's a genuine advantage in our eyes. - What matters is that the final product doesn't read or feel like AI output. We want people who use AI as a multiplier for their own taste and judgment, not as a replacement for it. - If you've built workflows or prompting approaches that let you produce more high-quality work without sacrificing voice or strategy, tell us about it. Do not apply if - Your email work is primarily plain-text or text-heavy direct response style. - You don't consider or value design in your work. - Your portfolio doesn't include any visual email examples. - Email Marketing copywriting experience for 8 or 9 figure DTC brands.
