Role Description As a Sr. Analytics Engineer, you will drive the architecture, development, and optimization of our analytics infrastructure. You’ll work closely with cross-functional teams (data science, engineering, security, and product) to ensure that the company leverages data insights effectively to drive business decisions, enhance product security, and support our growth. Your primary responsibility will be to design and implement data models, pipelines, and analytics frameworks that empower internal and external stakeholders with secure, accurate, and actionable data insights. Responsibilities - Architect, build, and maintain robust, scalable data pipelines and analytics infrastructure that supports real-time data insights and reporting. - Design efficient and secure data models and warehouses that facilitate optimized querying, reporting, and analytics workflows. - Implement, maintain, and optimize ETL/ELT processes that handle the ingestion, transformation, and loading of large, complex datasets, ensuring data quality and security at every step. - Collaborate with data scientists, security engineers, and product managers to gather requirements, prioritize projects, and build analytics solutions that directly contribute to business objectives. - Ensure that all data-related processes meet the highest standards of security, privacy, and compliance (GDPR, CCPA, etc.). Qualifications - 5+ years of experience as a data/analytics engineer, with at least 2+ years in a senior role. - Expert in SQL, Python, or R for data analysis and transformation. - Proficient in data modeling and database design (e.g., Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery). - Deep experience with ETL/ELT tools (e.g., dbt, Airflow, Apache Spark) and cloud data platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure). - Strong understanding of data warehousing concepts, architecture, and technologies. - Experience with modern BI tools (e.g., Looker, Tableau, PowerBI). - Familiarity with data versioning, CI/CD, and DevOps practices for analytics engineering. - A strong background or understanding of data security principles, encryption, and compliance standards (e.g., GDPR, CCPA). - Proven ability to handle complex datasets, troubleshoot issues, and find innovative solutions. - Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to convey technical information to non-technical stakeholders. Compensation Information Compensation Range: $160,000-$200,000. The range represents total compensation, and may include incentive for sales roles, equity or benefits, as applicable. This compensation range represents Cyera’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of posting, and Cyera may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. We’re not about selling products - we want to solve problems and change lives through Monzo ❤️ What you’ll be working on: - The Analytics Engineering team is responsible for building downstream data models from backend services. - Support the building of robust data models downstream of backend services (mostly in BigQuery) that support internal reporting, machine learning as well as financial and regulatory use cases. - Focus on optimisation of our Data Warehouse, spotting opportunities to reduce complexity and cost. - Help define and manage best practices for our Data Warehouse, including payload design of source data, logical data modelling, implementation, metadata and testing standards. - Set standards and ways of working with data across Monzo, working collaboratively with others. - Investigate and effectively work with colleagues from other disciplines to monitor and improve data quality within the warehouse. - Contribute to prioritisation of data governance issues. - On call support out of hours will be expected from time to time as part of this role. Qualifications - You enjoy working with cross functional fast moving teams and are passionate about serving small businesses. - You are able to think strategically about the Business Banking product and how our underlying data models will unlock more insights for our team and more value for our customers. - You have a strong passion for data modelling, ETL projects, and Big Data. - You enjoy working with data streams from various services, such as financial, transactional, and operational systems. - SQL and data modelling are second nature to you, and you are comfortable with general Data Warehousing concepts. - You are committed to continuous improvement, proactively identifying opportunities and addressing challenges in your work and the work of others. Requirements - Any experience working within a finance function or knowledge of accounting. - Experience working in a highly regulated environment (e.g. finance, gaming, food, health care). - Knowledge of regulatory reporting and treasury operations in retail banking. - Exposure to Python, Go or similar languages. - Experience working with orchestration frameworks such as Airflow/Luigi. - Have previously used dbt, dataform or similar tooling. - Used to AGILE ways of working (Kanban, Scrum).
