Front End Platform Engineer
Defense Unicorns
• Continually implement features and functionality to enhance the user experience • Collaborate with UX/UI designers and product managers to architect and design an innovative Interface that meets the needs of our users • Write and maintain unit and integration tests to support UI reliability • Apply modern front-end best practices to improve usability, accessibility, and performance • Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in UI development, and apply this knowledge to improve our products. • Communicate and execute in an asynchronous, all remote environment
Job Requirements
- 3+ years of experience working on full-stack product teams (partnering effectively across front end, back end, and design)
- Production experience with JavaScript/TypeScript + Svelte to build UI components using Tailwind CSS; experience with Flowbite is a plus
- Experience debugging across the stack, with strong familiarity with Golang backend services and APIs.
- Familiarity with UI/UX design principles, tools, and systems such as Figma and Carbon Design System
- Experience working in CI/CD environments and shipping code through automated pipelines
- Exposure to Kubernetes-based deployments (deploying, troubleshooting, or operating apps in K8s) is a plus
- Familiarity with DoD security and accreditation processes (e.g., ATO, IL2–IL5) is a plus
- Proven ability to analyze complex problems, propose innovative solutions, and implement them effectively
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities
