Role Description We are seeking a highly organized and patient-focused RN / USRN Medical Receptionist to support a busy Dermatology practice. The ideal candidate will combine strong front-desk administrative skills with clinical knowledge to assist in patient coordination, scheduling, biopsy follow-up calls, and overall patient communication. This role requires professionalism, attention to detail, and the ability to handle sensitive medical information with accuracy and empathy. - Manage inbound and outbound patient calls professionally and efficiently - Schedule, confirm, and reschedule patient appointments and procedures - Handle front desk coordination, patient intake, and registration support - Verify insurance eligibility, benefits, and authorizations when needed - Maintain accurate patient records in EMR/EHR systems - Conduct biopsy result follow-up calls with patients based on provider instructions - Communicate pathology results clearly and appropriately while maintaining patient confidentiality - Escalate urgent biopsy findings and patient concerns to providers promptly - Coordinate follow-up appointments for procedures, treatment plans, and referrals - Assist with prescription refill requests and patient messages - Support providers with chart preparation and documentation updates - Ensure HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality at all times - Provide excellent customer service and maintain a positive patient experience Qualifications - Active RN or USRN license required - At least 2 years of experience in a medical receptionist, clinical support, or dermatology-related role - Dermatology experience strongly preferred - Experience handling biopsy results, pathology follow-up, or post-procedure patient communication is a plus - Strong understanding of medical terminology and patient care workflows - Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems (experience with dermatology platforms is a plus) - Excellent verbal and written English communication skills - Strong multitasking, organizational, and time management skills - High attention to detail and ability to work independently - Professional, compassionate, and patient-centered approach - Reliable internet connection and quiet remote workspace Preferred Qualifications - Previous experience in a Dermatology, Cosmetic Dermatology, or Mohs Surgery practice - Experience with insurance verification and referrals - Knowledge of skin biopsy workflows, pathology reporting, and follow-up care - Experience supporting multiple providers in a fast-paced clinic environment
