Role Description As a Network Operations Squad Engineer, you will be a pivotal leader within your assigned squad, managing client relationships and guiding offshore rotational engineering resources. This role demands a proactive approach to network monitoring, rapid incident response, and cross-functional collaboration to ensure seamless operations. An ideal candidate is a highly skilled and resilient network professional, adept at independent troubleshooting, project ownership, and committed to delivering exceptional service in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities - Squad Leadership & Client Management: - Manage clients within your assigned squad, acting as a primary technical point of contact. - Lead and mentor rotational offshore engineer resources, providing guidance and training. - Collaborate with other network engineers across squads and other technology towers (Windows, Citrix, Database, etc.) to resolve complex issues. - Network Monitoring & Reporting: - Continuously monitor Logic Monitor dashboards throughout the day, checking Bandwidth, QoS, and other critical charts for potential issues. - Generate and present comprehensive reports to leadership and squad clients on squad performance and network health. - Incident & Request Management: - Respond and act on tickets with urgency to prevent breaches of NCT (Next Check Time) and maintain high CEQ (Customer Experience Quality) audit scores. - Actively participate in all Major Incidents (MI) related to your squad, assisting clients with network health checks and in-depth troubleshooting. - Independently troubleshoot, resolve, and conduct root cause analysis for network issues, major incidents, and outages. - Independently process routine requests for network services, access, and documentation. - Technical Operations & Project Ownership: - Configure, maintain, and operate a variety of network devices including routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, and monitoring tools. - Independently own and drive major or multiple concurrent minor network infrastructure projects from concept to completion, including requirements gathering, task delegation to peers, implementation, reporting to senior leadership, turn-up, testing, and hand-off. - Work diligently to remediate any audit findings within your squad to ensure compliance. - Mentorship & Cross-Functional Expertise: - Provide mentoring and training to engineering resources on the team, including peers and junior engineers. - Maintain a broad understanding of the function of multiple technology fields, including applications, server infrastructure, database, and web, and how they interoperate with the network infrastructure. - Commitment & Availability: - Be prepared for workload efforts that consistently extend beyond standard shift hours. - Participate in an on-call rotation as a mandatory requirement of the role. - Demonstrate the ability to deliver on senior leadership requests, even under highly stressful conditions, with very short timely commitments. Qualifications - 2-5 years of progressive experience in network engineering and operations, with demonstrated ability to lead or guide junior resources. - 2-3 years configuring, maintaining, and operating enterprise-grade network devices (routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers). - 1-2 years with network monitoring tools, with specific experience in Logic Monitor highly preferred. - 1+ year integrating and managing networking components within Cloud Providers, specifically Azure. Requirements - Strong proficiency in network troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and incident resolution. - Hands-on experience with network device configuration and management (Cisco, Juniper, Palo Alto, F5, etc., or similar enterprise vendors). - Proven ability to guide or mentor junior/rotational engineering resources. - Experience participating in or leading minor network infrastructure projects from initiation to completion. - Solid understanding of networking principles (TCP/IP, routing protocols, switching, VPNs, QoS). - Experience with ITIL processes, particularly incident, problem, and change management. - Excellent verbal and written communication skills for client interaction, reporting, and documentation. - Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment. - Strong commitment to meeting deadlines and working extended hours when necessary. Good to Have / Preferred Skills - Relevant industry certifications (e.g., CCNA, Microsoft Azure certification). - Experience with scripting or automation (e.g., Python, Ansible) for network tasks. - Familiarity with IT security best practices and compliance frameworks.
