Responsibilities: - Act as the primary SME for database and SQL performance tuning and optimization, with a focus on complex SQL workloads in Oracle environments. - Diagnose and resolve critical database-side performance issues across CRS, ETL, and high-volume transactional systems. - Lead and manage complex database initiatives and projects independently, including performance optimization, migrations, and platform improvements. - Provide technical leadership and mentorship to DBA team members; establish best practices, standards, and knowledge sharing. - Own and manage Oracle Exadata and EXACC platforms (on-prem and OCI), including performance tuning, patching, and capacity planning in coordination with Oracle Platinum Support. - Perform advanced troubleshooting across database, OS, and infrastructure layers to identify root causes and implement sustainable solutions. - Design, implement, and optimize database architectures for high availability (RAC, Data Guard) and performance. - Collaborate with application teams to review and optimize SQL code, execution plans, and data models. - Manage database environments across Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, and PostgreSQL (on-prem and cloud). - Drive automation and operational efficiency for database administration tasks. - Ensure compliance with security, SOX, and audit requirements, including database access controls and encryption. - Lead disaster recovery planning, testing, and execution. - Establish and maintain documentation, standards, and operational runbooks. - Support production systems and participate in on-call rotations as needed. Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, or related field. - 6+ years of progressive experience in Database Administration, with strong focus on Oracle. - Proven expertise as a Subject Matter Expert in SQL performance tuning and optimization, including complex query analysis and execution plan management. - Deep hands-on experience with Oracle Exadata and EXACC platforms (OCI and/or on-prem). - Strong experience resolving database performance issues in high-scale environments (OLTP and ETL workloads). - Advanced knowledge of Oracle technologies including RAC, Active Data Guard, OEM, and AWR/ASH analysis. - Experience working with Oracle in cloud environments (OCI and/or AWS). - Strong troubleshooting skills across database, application, and infrastructure layers. - Demonstrated ability to lead complex projects independently and deliver results. - Experience mentoring and guiding junior and mid-level DBAs. Requirements - Experience with SQL Server (including Azure). - Experience managing data warehouse environments on Exadata platform. - Good experience with Oracle Goldengate. - Experience with automation and scripting for database operations. - Knowledge of database security, VPD, DAM tools, and compliance frameworks. - Experience with backup/recovery tools like ZDLRA. - Strong understanding of ITIL/ITSM processes. - Experience in Oracle database administration and performance tuning on Oracle Exadata platforms in AWS and OCI environments is preferred.
