Manager, Clinical Informatics - Service Line

Role Description The Manager, Clinical Informatics – Service Line serves as the primary informatics leader and strategic partner for assigned clinical service lines. This role collaborates closely with service line leadership, clinicians, IT, and enterprise informatics teams to ensure clinical workflows, documentation, and EHR functionality align with organizational standards, patient care goals, and the overall EHR strategy. The manager leads planning, design, build, testing, implementation, and optimization of clinical applications and EHR enhancements specific to service line needs, while supporting effective end-user adoption and proficiency. Through proactive issue identification, risk management, training coordination, and use of clinical data, this role ensures informatics solutions promote safe, efficient, and high-quality patient care while supporting operational, regulatory, and strategic initiatives across the system. Responsibilities - Serve as the primary clinical informatics liaison for assigned service lines. - Partner with clinical service line leaders to optimize workflows and clinical documentation. - Ensure alignment between service line needs and enterprise EHR strategy. - Lead planning, design, build, testing, implementation, and optimization of EHR functionality and clinical applications within assigned service lines. - Coordinate service line–specific EHR enhancements and configuration changes. - Identify project risks and workflow issues and proactively implement solutions or escalate as needed. - Coordinate and deliver service line–specific training for new implementations, upgrades, and workflow changes. - Assess end-user adoption and proficiency and develop remediation strategies as needed. - Serve as a point of escalation for end-user issues within assigned service lines. - Ensure assigned service lines are prepared for planned and unplanned EHR downtime events. - Support compliance with enterprise downtime policies and procedures. - Collaborate with IT, informatics peers, and operational leaders to ensure seamless integration of systems and workflows. - Communicate service line priorities, risks, and opportunities to leadership team. - Leverage clinical data to support quality improvement, patient safety, and regulatory initiatives. - Ensure informatics solutions promote safe, effective, and efficient patient care. Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in nursing or health-related field required, master's degree preferred. - Minimum of four to five years of clinical and/or informatics experience. - One year of leadership experience required. - Experience participating in or supporting clinical informatics implementations, upgrades, or optimization efforts related to service-line workflows and patient care processes. - Informatics certification (ANCC Nursing Informatics or CPHIMS) required within three years. - Active clinical license maintained if applicable. Preferred Experience - Experience with EPIC. - Strong computer skills and communications skills. - Background in IT.

This individual will play a key role in developing and driving HEOR strategies and will also assume a critical leadership role in the coordination and development of value communication tools in support of direct engagement with HCPs, laboratories, and government health authorities.   Location/Division Specific Information This position is within the Specialty Diagnostics Group at Thermo Fisher Scientific. The ideal employee can be remotely based in the US central or eastern time zone OR remotely based in United Kingdom within 50 miles of a major airport.   What will you do? - Support development, execution of global HEOR and evidence generation strategies to support global product launches, label expansions, and US & EU market access. - Conduct HEOR studies and build value materials to meet global evidentiary requirements (i.e. global value dossiers, US & EU budget impact models, cost-effectiveness analyses, synthetic control studies, literature syntheses, etc.) - Pull through the evidence generated into publications. - Support coordination and implementation of global health technology assessment (HTA) strategies, including dossier development and submissions, in collaboration with Market Access colleagues. - Provide support and mentorship to early-stage program teams to optimize clinical development. - Partner with Payer, Market Access, and Medical Science Liaison teams to understand and meet needs of key partner evidentiary requirements. - Support direct engagements with commercial payers, Laboratory Benefit Managers (LBMs), Medicare Administrative Contractors (MACs), state Medicaid authorities and HTA organizations outside the US on an ad-hoc basis. - Be a subject matter authority on HEOR, sharing knowledge and providing informed evidence-based recommendations to other functions as needed. - Remain on the forefront of the relevant competitive landscape as well as emerging HEOR methodologies and applications. - Communicate regularly with internal and external partners to ensure all parties are up to date on the HEOR information relevant to them, including strategies, risks, and progress.   How will you get here? Education - BS, Masters, PharmD, MD, or Doctoral Degree in a life science, economics/health economics, health policy, healthcare finance, or a related field required. Experience - Minimum of 5 years of experience in health economics and reimbursement in pharma, medical device, or diagnostics industry required for candidates with an advanced degree. 8 years of direct HEOR experience required for all other candidates. - Proficiency/working knowledge of SAS, SPSS, or R required. - Proven track record to independently develop economic and population health models to support value propositions across all phases of a product’s lifecycle required. - Publication record in health economics strongly valued. - Technical and analytic capabilities in the following areas: economic modeling, economic evaluation, cost-effectiveness evaluation, patient focused outcomes, burden of disease, epidemiology, statistics, and health care policy. - Experience and knowledge of global HTAs evidentiary requirements and processes. - Direct payer and/or HTA experience highly valued with focus on US, EU5 and other developed markets. - Proven record to drive research agendas to completion and dissemination. - Solid understanding of Market Access processes and reimbursement methodologies required. Previous work experience in Market Access, reimbursement related role in industry or with a payer is highly valued.   Knowledge, Skills, Abilities - Up to 20% travel domestically and internationally - Ability to think innovatively and inventively about HEOR strategies.
