Role Description Nexcess is building a content program that the cloud space hasn't seen before. The brand is new, the way we're speaking to our market is new, and the content engine behind it reflects that. This isn't a role where you inherit a finished playbook. You'll be helping to build it while executing against it. You'll sit within the Creative team, editing across multiple formats: - Long-form brand videos in the 6-8 minute range - Four-camera video podcast episodes running 25-35 minutes - Short-form cutdowns from both The content you produce, from both the edit suite and AI generation, feeds both organic and paid channels, so understanding how creative performs in a paid context matters. This role runs on collaboration. You'll work closely with the Brand Storytelling team, Creative Director, and partners throughout the marketing org. Being genuinely skilled at collaborating matters as much as what you do in the edit. We care about the work more than who gets credit for it, and we expect the same from the people we bring in. We're not hiring based on years in the seat. Story structure is something we can develop together. What matters more is whether you're genuinely current on where video production is going. You know the AI tools in your space, you have working opinions on which ones are actually useful, and you're capable of building a workflow around them. Not because this is an AI role, but because being behind on that right now means being behind on the craft. Qualifications - Demonstrated experience editing multi-camera footage, including audio sync, color grading, and chapter structuring - A reel or portfolio that shows range across formats and lengths, with clear evidence of outputs produced using AI video tools such as Runway, Pika, or similar - Hands-on experience with AI video production tools and the judgment to know which ones are worth using - Comfortable operating at pace, incorporating direction quickly, and staying on track Requirements - Edit long-form brand videos (6-8 minutes) that hold attention and move the viewer toward a clear outcome - Produce four-camera video podcast episodes (25-35 minutes) from raw footage, including multi-cam switching, color grading, audio balancing, and chapter structure - Cut short-form content from long-form source material for both organic and paid distribution, adapting format and pacing for each - Collaborate with the Brand Storytelling team, Creative Director, and partners across the org to understand what a piece needs to say before you edit it - Build and maintain an AI video production workflow, identifying the right tools and establishing repeatable processes for high-fidelity AI-assisted video intended for both organic and paid use - Stay current on where video production is heading and bring what's actually useful back to the team Benefits - The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an individual to successfully perform the essential duties of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential duties. - While performing the essential duties of this job, the individual is regularly required to speak and hear. - While performing the essential duties of this job, the individual is regularly required to use hands for keyboarding, gross manipulation, and fine manipulation. - Works at a desk and computer screen for extended periods of time. - Works in a traditional climate-controlled office environment or from home. - Works in a highly stressful environment dealing with a wide variety of challenges, deadlines, and diverse employee population.
