• Own the end-to-end design process, from research and ideation to prototyping, validating, and delivering high-impact product experiences that help our users make smart financial decisions. • Act as the voice of the customer, using research, usability testing, A/B testing, and other analytical tools to understand and validate ideas, problems, and solutions, ensuring every decision delivers measurable value to users. • Partner with product, engineering, data, marketing, and content teams to translate ideas into meaningful, user-centered experiences. • Design responsive and consistent experiences across mobile and desktop. • Collaborate closely with engineers to ensure design feasibility, high-fidelity implementation, and visual and functional accuracy in the final product. • Contribute to product roadmaps and sprint planning alongside product and engineering teams. • Build and maintain design backlogs, and help shape design strategy for the next 6–24 months. • Support additional design needs from content and marketing initiatives across Ratehub and MoneySense. • Facilitate workshops with stakeholders to align on goals, gather requirements, and co-create solutions. • Communicate design concepts and rationale clearly and persuasively to technical and non-technical audiences, including senior leadership. • Build and maintain scalable design systems and style guides to ensure consistency across products. • Ensure all designs meet accessibility standards (WCAG) and deliver inclusive user experiences. • Stay current with industry trends, tools, and best practices to continuously improve design processes and methodologies.

• Create detailed 2D technical drawings, including plans, elevations, sections, assembly views, and exploded views, based on provided sketches, concepts, and design briefs. • Produce accurate 3D models and assemblies using suitable CAD software. • Prepare fully dimensioned and annotated production-ready documentation for prototyping and manufacturing. • Revise and update drawings efficiently in response to internal feedback, testing outcomes, or production requirements. • Contribute practical design refinement suggestions relating to form, function, ergonomics, joinery, and aesthetics while maintaining the original design intent. • Support design-for-manufacturability by recommending practical improvements to materials, hardware, and construction methods to optimise cost, quality, and production efficiency. • Liaise with manufacturers where required to clarify technical drawings, discuss material selections, and support efficient production outcomes. • Prepare bills of materials, assembly instructions, and manufacturing specifications. • Collaborate closely with the Australian product development team through shared files, chat platforms, and regular communication. • Maintain strong version control and organised project documentation. • Other position-level duties as they arise.

Role Description GFT is seeking an experienced Substation P & C Designer to join our expanding Power Group. This is a remote position. This experienced designer will be responsible for the protection and control design of high voltage substation projects up to 765kV. In this capacity, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following: - Design and execution of high-voltage substations projects in the 4kV – 765kV range with an emphasis on project safety, cost, quality, and reliability. - Generate designs and detailed engineering deliverables working under the supervision of lead engineer and project manager. - Complete basic engineering calculations related to design/engineering deliverables. - Develop one & three line diagrams; schematics and wiring diagrams; control and relay panel layout and specifications; control and relay panel and equipment wiring diagrams; SCADA system and communications interfaces including RTUs, HMIs and IEDs; auxiliary system design including batteries and chargers. - Compile complete list of relay and control materials for substation projects, and quote/order materials as necessary per contractual agreements with customers. - Follow specific instructions of supervisor or engineers to perform the more complex design assignments requiring application of standard design principles and practices. - Investigate new and existing substation technical drawings and conditions to ensure that installation and operations conform to industry standards and customer requirements. - Travel to job sites for project assessment and data (notes, pictures, etc.) gathering as needed. - Communicate and interact with clients. - Perform quality reviews of projects completed by peers. Qualifications - 2+ years of relevant substation or general electrical T&D designing experience. - Knowledge and ability to utilize computer-aided drafting including AutoCAD & MicroStation. - Familiar knowledge of the following codes: National Electrical Safety Code (NESC), National Electrical Code (NEC) and Institute for Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE). - Knowledge of substation voltages, MV, HV, EHV. - Ability to apply project schedules to complete tasks in a timely manner and within project budget. - Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. - Ability to review project documents and recommend value engineering ideas. - Ability to proficiently use Microsoft office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, etc.).
