Role Description The Head of Research Delivery is a senior, client-facing leader responsible for delivering high-quality research programs and leading research teams across projects and accounts. This role owns and actively drives how research delivery operates in practice, including the systems, workflows, and team structures that enable successful execution. - Accountable for delivery performance across projects (on time, on budget, on value). - Improves how work flows across teams, reducing unnecessary handoffs. - Ensures projects are set up for success from the start. - Plays a critical role in enabling scale by simplifying how we work and increasing visibility across teams. - Ensures delivery models support growth without adding complexity or requiring proportional increases in effort. Qualifications - 10+ years’ experience in healthcare/biopharma market research or a related field. - Strong understanding of end-to-end research delivery, including project setup, execution, and cross-functional coordination. - Proven ability to manage complexity across multiple projects, teams, or portfolios. - Experience improving workflows, resourcing models, or operational processes to increase efficiency and scalability. - Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to operate effectively across multiple stakeholders. - Clear, structured communicator with the ability to drive alignment and clarity across teams. - Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, evolving environment with changing priorities. - Demonstrated ability to balance delivery performance with team sustainability and workload management. Role Description The North Carolina Wildlife Resources Commission is accepting applications for an Anadromous Research Coordinator (Conservation Biologist II) for the Inland Fisheries Division. The NC Wildlife Resources Commission’s Inland Fisheries Division manages, conserves, enhances, and restores the State’s freshwater fishes, mollusks, crayfish and supporting aquatic habitats through: - Fisheries research - Fisheries management - Hatchery operation - Habitat conservation The Anadromous Research Coordinator (Conservation Biologist II) is responsible for: - Designing and conducting biological research and surveys of anadromous species in coordination with district biologists and other staff. - Serving as a liaison between the Commission and other state and federal agencies responsible for managing anadromous fisheries. - Coordinating diadromous fisheries and other research on Roanoke River as prescribed by the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) hydropower license conditions and settlement agreement with Dominion Energy. - Providing technical guidance and information transfer to other agencies, universities, and non-governmental organizations. - Leading biologist on the Dominion Energy Diadromous Fish Restoration Technical Advisory Committee. - Coordinating Commission participation with other management teams and contracted research with universities. - Representing the Commission on NC Division of Marine Fisheries plan development teams for anadromous species. - Assisting with conducting regional stock assessments and writing fishery management plans. This position is HOME-BASED. The incumbent must reside within North Carolina’s coastal region (Districts 1, 2 or 4). This is a Monday–Friday position, working 40 hours per week. This position requires: - Frequent travel, including occasional overnight travel. - Travel to the WRC-HQ in Raleigh, NC. Qualifications - Extensive knowledge of North Carolina’s freshwater and anadromous fisheries, fisheries science and management principles, and techniques used in sampling aquatic resources and their habitats. - Experience designing, conducting, and analyzing biological research. - Experience preparing written reports and verbal presentations to effectively communicate with resources professionals and the public. - Experience operating or maintaining field or laboratory equipment used in aquatic resource management. Requirements - Valid NC Driver’s License within 90 days of employment. - Bachelor’s degree in wildlife or fisheries management, fisheries science, zoology, or a biological science, or a closely related curriculum from an appropriately accredited institution and three years of related experience; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
