Role Description In this role, you will lead all risk engineering services specific to AXA XL’s Subcontractor Default Insurance (SDI) product, with responsibility for managing and leading a team of risk engineers located throughout the United States. You will work collaboratively with Underwriting and Claims leadership to develop and deliver analysis, insights, and support services vital for their roles, our strategies, and the success of our SDI business. You will work in partnership with our external contractors and broker partners to ensure the risk engineering team delivers effective and timely services, consultation, training and support of the SDI program - with the purpose of reducing overall cost of risk for both the contractor partners and AXA XL. You will further the team’s stature as a thought leader in the industry through communications, conference attendance, speaking engagements, etc. You will support the Construction Risk Engineering Manager in overall leadership of AXA XL’s Construction Risk Engineering team. What you’ll be doing: - Lead and manage AXA XL’s team of SDI Risk Engineers to deliver excellent service, insights, and support to our internal and external partners. - Collaborate with SDI Underwriting and Claims to drive and support our strategies and vision for continuous improvement, technical excellence, and profitability. - Enhance the SDI product through development and implementation of resources and tools that further industry best practices and SDI program risk mitigation. - Oversight of RE workload, account assignments, service planning, service delivery, and service quality. - Support and drive the Team’s stature as thought leader in the industry through communications, conference attendance, speaking engagements, etc. - Internal reporting that demonstrates the work, effort, and achievements of your team. - Ongoing development of team strength through identification of both technical and soft skill development needs and associated training/support. - Maintain an account load commensurate with performing above responsibilities. This is a home office position, with service responsibilities extending throughout the United States and Canada. This role reports to the Construction Risk Engineering Manager. Qualifications - Demonstrated experience and competence in both construction management practices and with application of the SDI product in the SDI Risk Engineering role. - Ability to apply construction and SDI experience to a broad range of customers, risks, and situations. - Ability to perform or understand detailed analysis, but communicate and apply information to the bigger picture to a variety of audiences. - Collaborative to work with and communicate with broad range of people in positive manner. - Proven ability as a self-starter who continually looks toward individual development. - Experience working proactively across lines of business and effectively with internal and external partners on special projects. - Ability to lead a team to effective results. - A valid driver’s license is required. - Ability to travel 25-40%. - A Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management or similar combination of education/experience is required.
