Role Description We are seeking a seasoned Mechanical Engineer to support our EO/IR seeker and precision munitions products and related technologies. If selected, you will be part of the Hardware Team supporting production programs in the Franchise Program Portfolio – a major piece of our Precision Guidance and Sensing Solutions product line. - Serve as Responsible Engineer (RE) for mechanical and opto-mechanical suppliers. Be the expert – own the product. - Identify and lead continuous improvement activities aimed at mitigating or eliminating problematic designs, build processes, and test plans. - Work collaboratively with cross-functional team to resolve supply chain issues. - Collaborate with external suppliers and internal procurement teams to meet program technical requirements. Support periodic audits of suppliers’ facilities and processes. - Engage regularly with production floor personnel to develop fixtures, improve processes, and increase product quality. - Provide technical assessments to Material Review Boards to resolve non-conformances. Skillfully present technical data to internal and external customers. - Mentor more junior engineers and actively contribute to knowledge-sharing culture. - Provide technical oversight and direction to Design Drafting resources allocated to your program. - Work within schedule and budget constraints and elevate concerns if challenges arise. Qualifications - Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Manufacturing Engineering - Minimum of six years of relevant experience in related industry (i.e. defense, electronics) or four years plus a Master’s Degree - Knowledge of mechanical fabrication techniques and processes - Knowledge of and experience in Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing per ASME Y14.5 - Experience in mechanical stack-up tolerance analyses - Knowledge of common military and industry specifications and standards - Experience with the design and manufacture of electronic circuit card assemblies - Eligibility to obtain a DoD Security Clearance at the “Secret” level - Clear communication – both oral and written – and a positive attitude - Ability to work effectively on a team either on-site or remotely Requirements - Proficiency with PTC Creo or equivalent CAD software - Knowledge/familiarity with special processes such as passivation, anodize, prime and paint, plating, and heat treatment - Knowledge of and experience with raw materials and their governing specifications - Prior experience in Design Engineering role, especially on cooled and uncooled infrared optical systems - Prior experience in Quality or Supplier Quality organizations; familiarity with SAE AS9100 and AS9102 - Experience with guided and unguided munitions, including support of test events at customer sites - Experience with bearings, gimbals, dewars, cameras, motors and resolvers - Hands-on experience with thermal, vibration, and shock environmental testing per MIL-STD-810 - Active DoD Security Clearance Benefits - Full-Time Salary Range: $118095 - $200762 - Health, dental, and vision insurance - Health savings accounts - 401(k) savings plan - Disability coverage - Life and accident insurance - Employee assistance program - Legal plan - Discounts on home, auto, and pet insurance - Paid time off and paid holidays - Other types of leave, including paid parental, military, bereavement, and applicable federal and state sick leave - Company recognition program for monetary or non-monetary recognition awards - Other incentives based on position level and/or job specifics
