Role Description We are recruiting multiple Innovation Lead positions within the Battery Innovation Programme. All roles share the same core purpose—driving innovation, managing projects and portfolios, and engaging stakeholders across industry, academia and government. Each position also carries distinct responsibilities aligned to a specific workstream. Applicants may express interest in one or more roles, and successful candidates will be matched to the most suitable workstream based on their strengths and experience. The workstreams are as follows: - Faraday Institution and academic liaison - UKBIC Liaison - International Activities - Sector Engagement - Business Engagement and Policy Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities in all roles: - Act as Innovate UK’s expert in battery innovation, translating policy and strategy into impactful funding interventions. - Manage the Innovation portfolio, identifying and evidencing progress and scoping future interventions and their business cases. - Lead technical stakeholder management by building and maintaining positive relationships with partners, funders, and supporters. - Provide thought leadership that connects the battery innovation community and broker relevant links for innovators. - Signpost organisations to relevant funds or support and work with the team to deliver programs effectively. - Gather evidence and evaluate programme success and long-term impact. - Highlight success stories and represent Battery Innovation Programme at leading industry events. Qualifications - Knowledge of innovation in battery technologies and/or its supply chain. - Demonstrable stakeholder management experience. - Demonstrable influencing skills to influence groups of stakeholders. Requirements - Ability to travel around the UK as required. - Experience common to all roles includes knowledge of battery technologies and stakeholder management. This is an opportunity for a technically minded individual to work in customer-focused agile squads and collaborate with product managers, designers, and engineers to define the next iteration of NatWest Boxed. What you'll do: - Work collaboratively across our missions to define and continually improve our testing strategy for new and existing products. - Drive the direction of our testing chapter to ensure it maintains the highest standards of technology and process. - Develop clean, elegant, and reusable code that is easy to maintain and extend. - Build scalable automated testing systems that enable us to ship value to customers at pace. - Support other engineers to test their software and act as a subject matter expert. - Work with stakeholders across the business to shape the future of quality engineering at NatWest Boxed and put long-term interests of our customers at the heart of key decisions. Qualifications - Hands-on experience with common back end test automation frameworks, and integrating these into the continuous deployment pipeline. - Awareness of cloud infrastructure and configuration. - Hands-on experience with ReactNative, front-end test automation frameworks, and integrating these into the continuous deployment pipeline. - Knowledge of software performance and automated security testing techniques and tooling. - A strong understanding of Behaviour-Driven Development (BDD). - Experience delivering and testing distributed microservices as part of an agile team.
