Senior Engineer – Nuclear Deterministic Safety Analysis
General Electric - GE
• Lead a variety of projects including technical evaluations and analyses in the area of Anticipated Operational Occurrences, Anticipated Transients without Scram, Reactor Heat Balance, and Thermal Hydraulic Fuel Channel Analyses • Perform plant thermal hydraulic evaluations and analyses in the areas of Containment, HELB, Fire Safe Shutdown, Annulus Pressurization Loads, and RIPD analyses • Perform plant thermal hydraulic evaluations and analyses in the areas of BWR stability • Deliver products at a consistently high and sustainable level in accordance with customer requirements, business procedures, and regulatory agency guidelines • Prepare thorough and accurate technical reports, correspondence, documentation, and calculations • Perform technical verification of engineering technical deliverables • Prepare, communicate, and present complex technical issues to internal and external customers and recommend solutions • Ensure work is performed with high quality in accordance with regulatory rules and regulations, customer requirements, and business quality assurance standards
Job Requirements
- B.S. Degree in Engineering Discipline (Nuclear, Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, or similar)
- At least 8 years of relevant nuclear experience
- Programming experience such as C#, FORTRAN, or PYTHON
- Experience with BWR core simulation and thermal-hydraulic systems codes
- Experience with BWR Containment, HELB, Fire Safe Shutdown, Annulus Pressurization Loads, and RIPD analyses
- Extensive knowledge of BWR Systems and integrated plant response
- Extensive knowledge of the fundamental principles of nuclear engineering such as nuclear physics, thermal hydraulics, and mechanical design, as applied to BWR
