Job Description

DevOps Engineer, Full Stack

Tallo

• Work closely with the rest of the engineering team members to design and implement large-scale service-oriented applications • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements • Help drive future technology direction and framework selection across different products • Responsible for Designing and maintaining a secure AWS Enterprise DevOps and SecDevOps tools based on industry standards • Determine technical standards and specifications and lead the architecture, design, build and support of DevOps components • Build infrastructure to support CICD pipeline for micro-service environments across multiple environments • Conduct code reviews and enhance software development best practices within the team • Mentor junior members of the engineering team

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in software engineering or related field
  • 5 years of experience with design and implementation of systems and applications at Amazon Web Services (AWS)
  • Proven track record of enterprise architecture experience with large volume, high availability enterprise applications
  • Strong understanding of modern front-end frameworks, specifically React
  • Strong core Java and knowledge of enterprise technologies
  • Strong understanding of object-oriented programming best practices and design principles
  • Five (5) years of broad knowledge of Java and/or PHP
  • Three (3) years’ experience with Spring Framework or Laravel
  • Three (3) years of experience with Relational DBs like Postgres and writing SQL queries
  • Four (4) years of experience with AWS (API Gateway, Elastic Beanstalk, RDS, Lambda, Code Pipeline)

Role Description We are looking for someone ready to take full ownership of platform engineering for the first time at company scale, as our first dedicated Senior DevOps / Platform Engineer (f/m/x). This is a step up role for someone who has spent the last few years owning infrastructure inside a small engineering team and is now ready to be the person who runs the entire platform area independently. - Make MAIA's platform reliable, secure, auditable, and developer-friendly. - Take full ownership of our infrastructure: Hetzner first, AWS, GCP, and Azure for selected services. - Own our CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions) and deployment workflows. - Build, improve and maintain our observability stack (Grafana, Loki, Sentry, PostHog). - Operate and improve our self-hosted Postgres setup. - Implement and maintain our security fundamentals: IAM, secrets management, TLS, vulnerability scanning, and patch management. Qualifications - Solid experience running production systems on Linux servers. - Strong working knowledge of Docker and Docker Compose in production. - Hands-on PostgreSQL operations experience. - Proven experience with CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure as Code. - Working experience with an observability stack such as Grafana and Loki. - Strong security fundamentals. - Fluent in English; German is a plus.
