About Us M&D Capital is a leading third-party Medical Billing and Revenue Cycle Management company serving clients across the United States. We operate offices across multiple states, along with a growing international team. We specialize in out-of-network surgical claims, and partner directly with our clients to ensure the maximum reimbursement for their services. We are currently seeking a Chief Data Officer to join our rapidly growing team. This is a full-time, in person position located in Queens, New York. Professional Coder E/M This is a full-time, remote position that offers a flexible schedule. We are currently looking for candidates with experience specializing in the following area: E&M for IP/OP/ER services. Responsibilities: - Review and accurately code cases to maximize reimbursement in a timely manner. - Review and accurately code E&M and office procedures. - Able to work independently and research coding scenarios. - Coder is responsible for meeting our daily production goal and our quality goal of averaging 95% accuracy rate on a consistent basis. - Attend conference calls as necessary to provide information and/or feedback. - Communicate with leadership on coding or documentation issues/trends. - Stay current on all coding guidelines (to include orthopedic-specific guidelines) maintain credentials as necessary. - Participate in coding department and education meetings. - Flexible to expand coding skill set into other specialties altogether. - Maintain confidentiality and protect sensitive information. - Other duties as assigned by leadership. Education/Experience Requirements: - High School diploma required. Associates or BS degree preferred. - Successful completion of at least one AHIMA or AAPC certified program with the achievement of the correlating professional credential (CCS, CPC, etc.); - active and in good standing. A CPC certification is preferred. - Minimum of 3 years physician coding experience (recent hands-on production) in Expertise in E&M coding for in-patient, out- patient and emergency room. - Must have proficient knowledge of anatomy and physiology, medical terminology, - CPT, ICD-10 coding, modifiers, disease processes, surgical techniques, and Medicare and Medicaid billing policies for professional services. Role Description The HIM Certified Coder is responsible for accurate and timely coding of hospital inpatient, hospital outpatient and/or professional fee encounters using appropriate ICD10/ICDPCS, CPT, or HCPCs codes and appropriate coding software such as computer assisted coding and encoders as a means to ensure compliant billing of Carle claims. - Responsible for understanding and applying all regulatory coding guidelines, such as National and Local Coverage Determinations and application of CPT modifiers. - Responsible for understanding and applying coding knowledge to resolve billing edits related to coding. - Uses Carle electronic medical record systems to review clinical encounters. Outpatient coder with recent and multiple years' experience coding in a children's hospital or extensive pediatric experience. This role will be for multi-specialty coding for both medicine and surgical cases. The role can be utilized in areas where the experience is strongest, thus candidates do not need to be experience all specialties but should have experience in multiple specialties. Epic and 3M 360 CAC experience required. Schedule can be flexible after initial training. For initial training candidate must be available for the first week between 8a and 4p PST. Post initial training 50% of the shift should be worked during this timeframe. This is an 8 week project. 1.
