Job Type: Full-Time Location: Remote (across Southern USA) Training and Travel Requirement: This role includes a training period (up-to 4 weeks) at our Canadian facility. Candidates must be eligible to travel to Canada. About the Role We are looking for a commercially driven, technically credible professional who approaches business development with an entrepreneurial mindset. This role is suited for someone who takes initiative, pursues opportunities proactively, and is motivated by building something meaningful. As a Business Development Engineer, you will be responsible for identifying and developing new opportunities, exploring industries where BOS has not yet established a presence, and building strong customer relationships from the ground up. You will work closely with customers to understand their operational challenges and position automation solutions that deliver real, measurable impact. This role requires someone who is comfortable operating with a high level of autonomy, bringing forward ideas, and taking ownership of growing a territory. You are energized by the opportunity to open new doors, challenge the status quo, and expand into new markets. RESPONSIBILITIES - Develop and grow new business opportunities by selling BOS engineering and automation solutions, while identifying best-fit, value-driven solutions for customer processes and production flow. - Maintain and strategically expand a list of assigned and target accounts, with a strong focus on developing new relationships and markets. - Identify and pursue target companies and industries to support BOS’s expansion into new markets. - Register and manage Requests for Quotes (RFQs) within the sales database, ensuring accurate tracking and documentation. - Review and manage orders, contributing to achieving monthly and annual revenue and margin targets. - Work with the VP of Sales and Marketing to develop and execute a sales plan focused on new business growth and market expansion. - Develop and execute an annual business plan outlining key industries, accounts, and growth strategies. - Conduct sales visits, lead customer discussions, and present technical solutions that align with customer needs and BOS capabilities. - Collaborate with engineering and applications teams to develop competitive, technically sound proposals. - Maintain accurate CRM updates, forecasting, and pipeline visibility. - Lead customer discussions through proposal, negotiation, and final sale closure. - Actively contribute to the Sales and Marketing team by sharing insights, strategies, and market feedback.
