Title: Paralegal Location: San Juan, Puerto Rico Job Description: Company: Popular Workplace Type: Hybrid Paralegal General Description Provides support to attorneys within the Legal Division, assisting with a wide range of legal, research, and operational tasks. Responsibilities include conducting legal and documentary research including managing Electronically Stored Information ("ESI"), monitoring and tracking changes in laws, regulations and other regulatory requirements, and preparing reports, memoranda, summaries, presentations and other relevant materials needed to support legal initiatives. The role also involves gathering, compiling, analyzing and monitoring statistical and operational data from various sources, and managing, reviewing, responding and documenting legal consultations. Essential Duties and Responsibilities - Evaluates, responds and documents legal consultations handled by the Legal Division, either by telephone, e-mail or in person. This includes inquiries and legal consultations from internal clients, such as branch employees and other business units, as well as employees and customers. Work includes reviewing and analyzing legal documents, such as contracts, loan documents, deeds of trust, estate documents, powers of attorney and affidavits, policies, guidelines and other employee resources, among others, as well as researching, summarizing and applying relevant laws and policies. - Identifies, monitors, and tracks changes in laws and regulations, ensuring timely communication and reporting of updates that may affect the organization. - Draft correspondence, legal memoranda, form documents, presentations, reports, summaries, and other materials to support the Legal Division's operations. - Provides support with the Contract Management Module. - Prepares reports and analysis to support attorneys and management in decision-making, operational planning, and advice. - Assist in the collection, placing of legal holds, and review ESI in response to litigations, investigations, subpoenas, and/or court orders. Experience Minimum 1-year paralegal experience or closely related skills and work experience. Experience in the collection and production of ESI preferred. Additional Information - Strong problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to think and work creatively and analytically in a fast-paced environment. - Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills in both English and Spanish, with the ability to communicate clearly, concisely and professionally. - Ability to build and maintain trusting relationships with colleagues, internal clients, and external stakeholders. - Ability to work under pressure, manage competing priorities, and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive and professional attitude. - Exceptional attention to detail, supported by strong time and project management skills. - Advanced proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook. - Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with the ability to interpret data, make recommendations, and support decision-making. - Proven ability to work independently with minimal supervision, as well as collaboratively within a team oriented environment.
