Staff Engineer

• Report to our Principal Architect on the Runtime team • Design and implement complex system functionality underpinning the core of our platform and client applications • Review other engineer’s code and provide helpful feedback to ensure everything we deliver is of the highest quality • Coordinate across teams within the company to ensure our platform is delivering value to clients in terms of functionality, stability, and performance
Job Requirements
- 7-10 years of experience building enterprise grade applications with a strong focus on backend architecture and systems design
- Proven track record of designing and implementing complex interconnected systems while maintaining reliability and observability
- Initiative to take business and client requests and turn them into fully architected technical solutions
- 7-10 years of proven experience in:
- Typescript/Javascript
- Node.JS
- Data and Information Architecture Design
- Cloud Infrastructure
- NoSQL Database experience is a plus, but not required
- An AI-forward mindset: You are an avid user of AI tools and are passionate about exploring how AI can automate workflows, enhance creativity, and increase your personal impact.

• Design, develop, and test Mule 4 applications using API-led connectivity. • Build, enhance, and support RESTful and event-driven integrations using RAML/OpenAPI, DataWeave, and MuleSoft connectors. • Develop integrations supporting utility systems such as customer information systems (CIS), outage management, work management, billing, and regulatory reporting platforms. • Implement secure integrations in compliance with PG&E cybersecurity standards. • Ensure high availability, resiliency, and scalability appropriate for a regulated public utility environment. • Prepare and execute unit, integration, and regression testing using MUnit and automated testing frameworks. • Support end-to-end delivery through development, system testing, user acceptance testing (UAT), and production readiness. • Contribute to and follow PG&E-approved CI/CD pipelines using enterprise version control and automation tools. • Provide Level 2/3 support for production MuleSoft integrations supporting mission-critical utility operations. • Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including API specifications and integration design documents.
