JOB SUMMARY: The Delivery Engineer | Splunk, will provide technical expertise in providing guidance on levels of effort for configuring, installing, and developing against Splunk: platform for operational intelligence. This position is a customer facing role and will be responsible for delivering project related consulting services to analyze the massive streams of machine data generated by IT systems and technology infrastructure—physical, virtual and in the cloud. SUMMARY OF ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: - Drive complex deployments and integration of Splunk while working side by side with the customers to solve their unique problems across a variety of use cases. - Collaborate across the entire organization to bring access to product and technical teams, to get the right solution delivered and drive feature innovation gathered from customer input. - Leverage previous experiences, share best practices and create innovative solutions to push user adoption and maximize the value of Splunk. - Collaborate with and enable customers to solve the next wave of questions on their own. - May perform other duties as assigned by supervisor. REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE: - A minimum of 3 years of current experience in technical consulting or big data analytics. - Ability to quickly explore, examine and understand data from multiple disparate sources and how it relates to the customer’s business. - Demonstrable understanding of common enterprise applications (especially in the areas of security and finance). - Experience with both the Unix and Windows operating systems; comfortable on the command line interface. - Working knowledge and recent experience with scripting languages (bash), application development (java, python, .NET), databases and analytical tools. - Ability to collaborate with technical and non-technical consumers from IT administrators to executive level stakeholders. - Well organized with a healthy sense of urgency - able to set, communicate, and meet aggressive deadlines with competing priorities. - Excellent speaking and customer interaction skills. - Not required, but a plus: statistical and analytical modeling. - This is a remote, contract position and eligible candidates must be located in the United States. The range for this position in other geographic locations may differ. Certain positions may also be eligible for variable incentive compensation, such as bonuses or commissions, that is not included in the base salary.
