ABOUT THE ROLE As a Middle Backend Engineer, you’ll build the infrastructure that lets AI agents read, reason, and act on real energy data — connecting LLMs, APIs, and live data sources into production systems that run 24/7. WHAT YOU WILL DO - Build production backend systems connecting LLMs and coding agents with data and product APIs; - Design and deploy microservices using Python and optionally TypeScript; - Develop data connectors to external portals and public data sources; - Design backend infrastructure enabling AI agents to operate across data systems; - Ensure performance, scalability, and reliability of backend systems; - Implement observability and CI/CD pipelines for monitoring and maintenance; - Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business problems into technical solutions. MUST HAVES - 2+ years of experience building backend systems using Python and frameworks such as FastAPI; - Experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP); - Experience owning backend services end-to-end (APIs, integrations, deployments, monitoring); - Strong skills in debugging and problem-solving; - Experience working with LLMs and AI tools (LangChain, OpenAI APIs, or similar); - Ability to rapidly prototype and iterate solutions; - Ability to work independently and manage priorities; - Strong communication skills across technical and business stakeholders; - Comfort working in fast-paced environments; - Upper-intermediate English level. • Design, develop, and maintain Java‑based microservices using Spring / Spring Boot • Build and support RESTful and SOAP web services deployed on IBM WebSphere Application Server (WAS) • Develop and enhance integration flows in IBM App Connect Enterprise (ACE) , including ESQL‑based message transformations • Integrate applications using IBM MQ and JMS for reliable, asynchronous communication • Troubleshoot and resolve performance, scalability, and production issues in middleware and service layers

• Build and maintain frontend applications using JavaScript and React • Develop intuitive and responsive user interfaces with a strong focus on UI/UX quality • Integrate with APIs to fetch, process, and display data effectively • Create data visualisations and graphing components to present complex information clearly • Collaborate with backend engineers and other teams to ensure seamless data flow and functionality • Implement and manage authentication and related frontend logic • Contribute to design discussions, ensuring usability and visual consistency across the product • Work independently to deliver features end-to-end while maintaining high development standards

• Contribute to the evolution of a large-scale Java-based platform with a modern web interface, mobile applications, and multiple integrations with external systems • Work in a highly collaborative environment, involving close interaction with product managers and stakeholders to deliver well-defined features • Leverage AI-powered tools to enhance productivity, accelerate development cycles, and improve code quality • Take ownership of the full development lifecycle, from system design to deployment, working on performance-critical applications used in a global context
