Job Description
Finance Operations Analyst
Giftbit, Inc.
About the Role Gift cards and prepaid payments are high-value, high-velocity, and a known target for fraud. That makes finance operations at Giftbit interesting and consequential. As our Finance Operations Analyst, you'll own the day-to-day financial operations that keep our supplier and customer accounts running cleanly, along with active responsibility for loss prevention and fraud monitoring. You'll work closely with our Controller and report to our Head of Operations. This is a role for someone who notices when something doesn't add up, follows through without being asked, and takes pride in keeping things tidy and secure. As Giftbit grows, so does the scope of this role: there's real opportunity to deepen into finance and compliance, or broaden into operations, depending on where your strengths take you. What You’ll Do - Monitor gift card and prepaid card transactions, flagging anomalies and suspicious activity - Investigate fraud cases and chargebacks, escalating where appropriate - Maintain and improve loss prevention processes and documentation - Manage supplier balances, coordinate payments, and handle customer balance and reconciliation - Serve as the primary point of contact for finance-related questions from customers, suppliers, and internal teams - Create and track invoices - Manage the employee pay card program - Support internal controls that reduce financial risk exposure - Contribute to ad hoc finance and ops projects Who You Are You have 1–3 years of experience in finance, accounting, or financial operations, and you're looking for a role where you take real ownership. You're comfortable operating independently in a remote environment and hold yourself accountable without needing external pressure. You communicate clearly and professionally, which matters here: you'll be regularly interacting with customers and suppliers on financial matters that require both accuracy and tact. Exposure to fintech, payments, gift cards, or fraud prevention is a meaningful advantage. Your Application We welcome qualified candidates living in Canada. Giftbit is a distributed company that primarily works on Pacific Time. Employees may work remotely or from our office in Victoria, British Columbia. Please submit a current resume along with a short cover letter, just a few sentences on why this role and why Giftbit. We read every cover letter and give extra consideration to applications that include one. Annual compensation for this role is $65,000–$80,000 CAD, depending on candidate experience.
