• Lead, mentor, and grow a team of 5+ engineers across varying levels of seniority • Own end-to-end delivery of the patient-facing product, from scoping and architecture to deployment and maintenance • Partner closely with Product Managers and Designers to refine requirements, challenge assumptions, and ensure technical feasibility • Drive engineering excellence through code review culture, testing standards, observability, and thoughtful system design • Contribute hands-on where needed — reviewing PRs, unblocking engineers, and occasionally writing code • Recruit, interview, and onboard strong engineering talent as the team grows • Create a team environment where engineers are motivated, challenged, and set up to do the best work of their careers • Surface engineering risks, trade-offs, and capacity constraints clearly to leadership
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Math, or equivalent experience
- 7+ years of software engineering experience, with at least 2 years in a people management role
- Experience managing a team of 5 or more engineers
- Strong product engineering background — you have shipped consumer or B2B2C products that real users depend on
- Experience at a Series A or Series B company; you understand what it means to build in a resource-constrained, high-ambiguity environment
- Proven ability to partner with Product and Design as an equal contributor to the product development process
- Strong system design fundamentals and the ability to guide technical decisions across the stack
- Clear, direct communicator — with your team, with stakeholders, and with leadership
- High ownership mindset: you notice what's broken and fix it without being asked.
