Job Description

Engineering Management Director

The Cigna Group

• Own end-to-end engineering delivery and operational outcomes across Allegiance’s core application platforms, ensuring stability, performance, and scalability. • Define and execute a clear technology roadmap that addresses near-term operational needs while advancing long-term modernization of the VBA client platform and related systems. • Lead and develop engineering managers and senior engineers, strengthening accountability, talent growth, and engineering excellence. • Establish consistent engineering standards, delivery practices, and governance aligned with enterprise guardrails. • Partner with business, product, and technology leaders to align engineering outcomes with Allegiance and enterprise priorities. • Identify, assess, and manage technical risk, including legacy platforms and modernization initiatives. • Drive continuous improvement in delivery discipline, system reliability, and development practices across teams.

Job Requirements

  • Minimum of 15 years of experience in software engineering, application development, systems design, or IT engineering.
  • Extensive experience leading large-scale, business-critical application platforms in an enterprise environment.
  • Proven ability to define technology strategy and lead execution across multiple teams and stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated people leadership experience managing engineering leaders and cross-functional delivery teams.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Technology, Engineering, or a related field (Preferred).
  • Experience modernizing legacy platforms and implementing scalable, future-state technology solutions (Preferred).
