Job Description About You You are a backend developer who enjoys building scalable services and working with modern technologies. You are comfortable working with Node.js and Python, and you have experience developing APIs, handling real-world integrations, and contributing to systems where performance and reliability matter. You are proactive, detail-oriented, and take ownership of the solutions you deliver. You are also comfortable working in environments where AI is part of the development ecosystem, using it as a tool to improve how you build, troubleshoot, and document backend services. You Bring to Applaudo the Following Competencies: - Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience). - 4+ years of experience in backend development. - Strong experience with Node.js (NestJS or similar frameworks). - Practical experience with Python (FastAPI or similar frameworks). - Experience designing and building RESTful APIs and microservices. - Solid understanding of backend security, authentication, and SSL. - Functional knowledge of cloud environments (Azure preferred). - Experience debugging and resolving issues in non-production environments. - Familiarity with testing practices, version control (Git), and CI/CD pipelines. - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail. - Ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams. - Strong sense of ownership and responsibility for delivered solutions. - Experience working with data processing or integrations is a plus. - Exposure to AI-assisted development tools is a plus. - Advanced English proficiency is required, as you will work directly with US-based clients. • Build, maintain and improve backend applications that support BI and internal operational workflows • Develop and manage Cron jobs and other scheduled processes used across business systems • Write production-quality code primarily in Java and Python • Design and implement solutions in AWS using services such as Lambda and S3 • Work with MySQL to support application logic, reporting workflows and data access needs • Troubleshoot and optimize recurring jobs, backend services and process reliability • Use AI-powered development tools to improve engineering efficiency and effectiveness across coding, debugging, testing and code review • Partner with technical and non-technical stakeholders to deliver scalable internal solutions • Balance multiple concurrent projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment

• Develop and maintain backend services and APIs using Python. • Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other engineers to deliver new features. • Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code following best practices. • Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback. • Optimize applications for performance, scalability, and security. • Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve software defects and issues. • Familiarity with cloud-based database services (e.g., Snowflake), data transformation (e.g., dbt), and orchestration tools (e.g., Airflow). • Experience with AWS cloud services (S3, Lambda, Glue, etc.). • Proficiency in container orchestration and containerization using Amazon EKS and Docker. • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) utilizing Terraform. • Familiarity with monitoring and logging using Prometheus and Grafana.

• Design, develop, test, and debug components for distributed systems that operate at large scale and high speed • Own and drive nonfunctional requirements such as scalability, availability, and security • Develop and maintain unit and integration tests, achieving robust code and functional coverage • Produce enterprise-class documentation for internal and external collaboration • Break down complex tasks into manageable components, plan, and execute effectively • Collaborate with team members to elevate technology standards and consistently apply best practices • Participate actively in an agile environment to deliver high-quality software solutions
