System Engineer – Part-Time
Aegis Ventures
• Diagnose and resolve software, system, and infrastructure issues across Avandra’s products and internal tooling • Act as a technical point of contact for escalated or ambiguous issues impacting reliability, performance, or accessibility • Support deployment, configuration, and maintenance of software, hardware, and internal systems • Contribute to the quality and reliability of Avandra’s software through structured QA processes • Write and maintain automated test suites (integration, regression, smoke tests) • Participate in release testing and validation efforts • Ensure appropriate test coverage for new features and critical infrastructure • Write scripts and tools for deployment, monitoring, and troubleshooting • Support infrastructure provisioning and configuration using automation tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible) • Improve system observability through logging, alerting, and dashboards • Identify repetitive tasks and build automated solutions to reduce manual effort
Job Requirements
- 0-3 years of experience in a technical role (support, QA, IT operations, help desk) or relevant academic, bootcamp, or project experience
- Basic proficiency with Linux/Unix or macOS command-line environments
- Familiarity with at least one scripting language (Python, Bash, JavaScript, Go, etc.)
- Understanding of APIs, client/server concepts, and modern web applications
- Ability to read and interpret logs, error messages, and system metrics at a foundational level
- Basic experience with databases (queries, connections, or schema concepts)
