Job Description: Strategic Imperative: The Staff BI Engineer is important to scaling Prodege’s analytics ecosystem by strengthening the core BI foundations that support trusted, consistent, and self-serve decision-making. This role designs and enhances scalable analytics solutions across Snowflake, dbt, and Sigma to improve data quality, reporting reliability, and metric consistency while reducing manual work and ad-hoc reporting demand. Partnering with Product, Data Science, and business stakeholders, the role translates evolving needs into well-structured data models, semantic layers, and KPI frameworks that improve alignment and execution. As a senior individual contributor, this position helps elevate analytics engineering practices through strong technical execution, documentation, testing, and collaboration. Primary Objectives: - Strengthen Prodege’s BI and analytics platform to improve scalability, reliability, and reporting performance - Build trusted analytics data models that support accurate, consistent, and actionable reporting - Enable effective self-service analytics through strong data usability, governance, and integrity - Translate cross-functional business needs into scalable BI and analytics solutions - Help elevate analytics engineering standards through quality execution, documentation, testing, and tooling - Use AI-based development and analytics tools to accelerate delivery and improve output quality Qualifications - To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each job duty satisfactorily. Detailed Job Duties: (typical monthly, weekly, daily tasks which support the primary objectives) - Build and maintain scalable BI and analytics solutions that support reliable reporting and business decision-making - Develop and enhance dbt models in Snowflake to improve data quality, performance, and maintainability - Write and optimize complex SQL queries for large-scale analytical datasets - Build and support dashboards, semantic layers, and reporting assets in Sigma - Partner with Product, Data Science, and business teams to translate reporting and analytics needs into practical solutions - Define and maintain key metrics, KPIs, and reporting logic to improve consistency and trust in analytics outputs - Follow and promote analytics engineering best practices across testing, documentation, version control, and code quality - Support self-service analytics by improving accessibility, governance, and metric consistency - Use AI-based tools to improve development speed, validation, and documentation quality - Offer technical support and guidance to team members while contributing to stronger team practices The MUST Haves: (ex: job cannot be done without these skills, education, experience, certifications, licenses) - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, Engineering, or a related field; or equivalent practical experience - Six or more (6+) years of experience in Business Intelligence, Analytics Engineering, Data Engineering, or a closely related field - Strong hands-on experience with Snowflake, dbt, Sigma, or comparable BI and analytics tools - Advanced SQL skills, including writing, optimizing, and troubleshooting complex queries across large datasets - Experience building scalable, production-quality analytics solutions that support repeatable reporting and self-service analytics, not just ad-hoc analysis - Strong understanding of analytics data modeling, semantic layer concepts, data architecture, and performance optimization - Demonstrated ability to partner effectively with Product, Data Science, and business stakeholders to translate reporting and analytics needs into practical solutions - Experience applying analytics engineering best practices, including testing, documentation, version control, and code quality - Familiarity with AI-enabled tools that improve development efficiency, analytics workflows, or documentation quality The Nice to Haves: (ex: preferred additional skills, education, experience, certifications, licenses) - Experience in ad tech, performance marketing, consumer platforms, marketplaces, or other high-volume digital environments - Experience with near-real-time or streaming analytics environments - Exposure to analytics governance, KPI standardization, and metric definition frameworks across multiple teams - Experience providing technical guidance, peer support, or informal mentorship to other team members - Familiarity with experimentation, ML-driven analytics, or product performance measurement environments Pay Transparency: The anticipated base salary range for this position is $180,000 to $200,00. The final salary offered to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include, but are not limited to; the type and length of experience within the job, type and length of experience within the industry, the type and length of knowledge and skills for the position, education, training, etc. Prodege is a multi-state employer and final compensation within this range could be impacted by work location. Please note that the compensation details listed in US role postings reflect the base salary only, and do not include bonus, equity, or benefits. Prodege Benefits: Prodege offers a comprehensive benefits package to US Full-time employees including medical, dental, vision, STD, LTD and basic life insurance. Employees receive flexible PTO, as well as paid sick leave prorated based on hire date. US Employees have eight paid holidays throughout the calendar year.
