About the opportunity This role is responsible for end-to-end payroll processing, ensuring accurate, compliant, and timely payroll cycles including taxes, benefits, garnishments, and year-end activities for assigned clients. The position emphasizes quality control, auditing, and proactive issue resolution while collaborating with internal teams and clients to deliver high levels of customer satisfaction. It also involves managing cases, maintaining documentation, adhering to SLA metrics, creating and updating standard operating procedures, and supporting continuous process improvements. The ideal candidate brings multi-client payroll experience, strong legislative knowledge (especially Canadian payroll), familiarity with Dayforce or similar systems, and a commitment to accuracy, learning, and collaboration. What you'll get to do - Responsible for ensuring all aspects of the payroll cycle, including tax, benefits, garnishments, etc. are processed, reconciled, audited and transmitted accurately and timely - Ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll impacting changes, tax forms, payments and payroll processing for assigned clients - Responsible for quality control and auditing to ensure accuracy and low error or defect percentage - Work with cross-functional internal partners to resolve client payroll matters and employee inquiries - Provide Payroll support services to clients according to Dayforce contract, legislative requirements and business needs - Manage client and consumer related tasks within the case management system ensuring all documentation is complete, accurate, and timely - Drive customer satisfaction by providing high quality of service - Flexibility in terms of working hours - Think and act ahead, spot opportunities and act accordingly and proactively contribute to process improvements - Adhering to and Reporting on SLA metrics - Create, update standard operating procedures and performs quarterly document reviews - Meets quality control standards - Manage client and consumer related tasks within the case management system ensuring all documentation is complete, accurate, and timely. - Performs administrative functions as required - Responsible for quality control and auditing to ensure accuracy and low error or defect percentage - Work with cross-functional internal partners to resolve client payroll matters and employer and employee inquiries - Ability to communicate and collaborate with clients and internal team members - Responsible for ensuring all aspects of the payroll cycle including all payroll impacting changes are processed, reconciled, audited and transmitted accurately and timely - Provide Payroll services to clients according to Dayforce contract, legislative requirements and business needs - Proactively manage quarter, and year-end payroll auditing and processing - Resolve client’s issues and provide superior customer service to internal and external partners - Provides training, supporting peers and customers as needed - Executes minor configuration updates to product as applicable (PCR Lite) - Attends and leads customer meetings where required and supports discussions from payroll - Supports Client Relationship Executives with requests as needed for customer - *Canada specific: Performs monthly reconciliations of tax remittances, Strong legislative working knowledge of all Canada garnishments in order to interpret, calculate, Strong legislative knowledge of ROEs in order to validate or enter ROE’s as needed. Process multi-state bi-weekly company payroll in accordance with all federal, state and local regulations ensuring compliance with all company policies and statutory compliance. Responsible for accurate set up and system maintenance of State Withholding, SUI and local tax accounts and rates and registration of new accounts when required. Address and resolve any tax discrepancies or issues as needed. Find and correct errors in a timely manner to ensure accuracy of payroll tax withholding, minimizing potential penalties. Review and submit garnishments, levies, and family court orders to HRIS for proper set up and monitor for ongoing accuracy. Work with HRIS representatives to set up new earnings, deductions, tax and memo codes as needed ensuring appropriate taxing and compliance with company policy are upheld. 401k plan oversight including employee enrollment, loan approvals, distribution/rollover requests, compliance testing and audit information requests. Maintain knowledge of pertinent federal and state regulations and best practices affecting payroll and employee benefit programs. Keep current on all federally mandated mailing requirements and ensure they are followed to ensure compliance. Become proficient in all aspects of the HRIS to assist managers and employees in navigating the system to submit or access relevant information as well as create and prepare various reporting requirements as requested from Management team members. Manage unemployment claim process and employment verifications, ensuring that all requests for information are completed in a timely and accurate manner. Research and gather appropriate documentation in preparation for unemployment compensation hearings and participate in hearings as needed.
