This Opportunity WSP seeks a Site Civil Engineer to join our team supporting the electrical utility service areas. Our department specializes in high-performing projects with a focus on the future. Our goal is to deliver excellent projects and a positive experience for our clients and communities. This position will report to the Rocky Mount, Virginia location with the ability to work remotely. Employees may travel to a WSP office for periodic meetings. Your Impact You will be responsible for supporting the design and implementation of grading and drainage systems, including stormwater management, for both new and existing linear electrical utility sites. This includes the design of access roads and structure pads, as well as involvement in permitting processes and construction support activities. • Prepare and review engineering deliverables in support of civil/site engineering projects: o AutoCAD/AutoCAD Civil 3D and/or MicroStation o Hydrologic and hydraulic modeling o Stormwater management calculations, design, and modeling o Floodplain modeling and analysis o Site layout, grading, drainage designs and drawings o Bill of materials o Construction specifications • Perform detailed engineering reviews of the work submitted by others • Provide mentorship and guidance to others • Coordinate regularly with the Project Engineer/Manager to ensure project scope, budget, and quality expectations are met Assist in the preparation and implementation of site Health and Safety Plans (HASPs). - Work collaboratively with other engineers and planners on projects with infrastructure authorities on Federal, State, regional, and locally funded improvement and development projects. - Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures. - Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.
