Who Are We? We at Movemedical make the world’s best software solution for medical device companies. We're hiring a Senior Instructional Designer to build the foundation of our customer learning program. This is a high-impact, greenfield role where you'll design and create the learning experiences that help thousands of professionals confidently adopt and master our platform. You'll work closely with product managers, subject matter experts, and our training team to build something that doesn't exist yet and that will directly shape how our customers succeed. We hire smart, tenacious people and give them the mentorship and opportunities they need to grow as team members and leaders. Our development process is built for remote teams and facilitates communication and trust. As a small company with big ambitions, we see and recognize the impact of every person on our team. We are team-oriented and want each other to be successful; we pull together to accomplish our goals. Glassdoor gives us a 4.3/5.0 and Inc. put us on its Best Places to Work Editor's List in 2019. Who Are You? You've spent your career building digital learning experiences, not updating slide decks, but designing interactive, scenario-based e-learnings that actually change how people work. You've done this in a fast-moving SaaS environment where the product changes often and your content has to keep up. You're energized by a clean slate. You want to be the person who builds the thing, not the person who inherits it. You're curious about the product and about the learner, always asking "does this actually help someone do their job better?" before you call something done. You use AI as a genuine productivity tool, not a shortcut, and you're always looking for smarter ways to work. You collaborate naturally, take ownership seriously, and thrive when given real responsibility in a lean team. What will you do? - Design interactive eLearning courses using Articulate Storyline and Rise, with branching, variables, and guided practice to mirror real tasks and decisions - Create scenario-based learning, simulations, and hands-on exercises that help learners master product workflows - Translate complex product features, integrations, and processes into clear, engaging learning experiences - Build modular courses and role-based learning paths for the Product Academy, including both self-paced eLearning and live learning components - Produce instructional videos, product walkthroughs, and supporting assets such as quick reference guides or job aids - Develop materials for live learning experiences (facilitator guides, training decks, etc.) and occasionally facilitate sessions to support learning delivery or gather feedback - Publish, organize, and maintain learning content in the LMS, ensuring updates track with product releases - Continuously improve learning through data and learner feedback (e.g., quiz performance, adoption metrics, support ticket themes) - Work closely with product teams and SMEs to identify learning needs, clarify target outcomes, and design effective solutions - Maintain high standards for instructional quality, accessibility, and learner experience across all content - Provide guidance and feedback to others creating learning content to ensure instructional quality and consistency What We're Looking For We're looking for a Senior Instructional Designer with 5+ years of experience building original digital learning in a fast-moving SaaS environment, someone who creates from scratch rather than updating what already exists. Advanced Articulate Storyline proficiency is essential, and we'd love to see a portfolio that shows the depth of your work. We're looking for someone who has been through the full cycle of building a product learning program, from architecture to launch and who measures success by whether learners can actually do the job, not just whether they completed the course. You'll thrive here if you're self-directed, curious, and excited by the opportunity to build something meaningful from the ground up. What skills and experience do we expect you to have? - 5+ years of hands-on instructional design experience focused on designing and developing digital learning - Advanced proficiency in Articulate Storyline (variables, triggers, branching, simulations), along with the ability to create high-quality supporting learning assets (e.g., videos, walkthroughs, job aids) - Demonstrated experience working in a SaaS or similarly fast-paced, product-driven environment where content needs to move quickly - Experience building and managing content in any LMS (LearnUpon, Workramp, Absorb, Docebo, or equivalent) - Strong ability to translate complex, technical workflows into clear and engaging learning experiences with practice and real-world application built in - Comfort using AI tools thoughtfully to support research, prototyping, and development while maintaining high instructional design standards - Self-directed and independently motivated; able to manage priorities, timelines, and ambiguous scope without heavy oversight - Collaborative working style, effective across product, engineering, technical writing, and training functions Nice-to-haves: - Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Instructional Design, Learning Sciences, Educational Technology, or a related field preferred, equivalent experience demonstrating strong instructional design expertise will also be considered - Experience building or significantly contributing to a SaaS product academy or structured customer education program - Experience with video production tools (Camtasia or equivalent) - Background in medtech, healthcare, or similarly complex regulated industries - Portfolio or work samples demonstrating interactive eLearning design What Success Looks Like In your first three months, you'll complete your product training, assess what learning content exists today, identify the biggest gaps, and publish your first e-learning module in LearnUpon. By month six, you'll have a clear Product Academy structure defined, role-based learning paths mapped out, and the first core workflow modules built and live. By the end of your first year, the foundation of a scalable Product Academy is firmly in place — comprehensive training covering the product's core workflows, role-based paths serving both customers and internal teams, and a program built to keep growing and improving beyond year one. What Character Traits Do We Value? Hungry – You own problems and push beyond expectations without being asked Humble – You value team success over ego and foster shared wins Strong – You are self-aware, coachable, and willing to engage in hard conversations What Do We Offer? Great People: Join a team of hungry, humble, and strong problem solvers dedicated to impacting patient lives around the world. Benefits: Healthcare (Medical, Dental, Vision), Wellness Programs, 401k, Flexible PTO, end-of-year bonus Remote-first Culture: Featured in Inc.'s Best Places to Work Editor's List with a 4.3/5.0 Glassdoor score Other Perks: Stipends for fitness activities, snacks, and your at-home workspace Compensation At Movemedical, your base pay is one part of your total compensation package.
